Low carb food list
A Weight Loss Program for You
By reading this article, you must be one of the millions of people all over the world struggling to keep their bodies in shape. Obesity and excess weight are growing problems that the human population faces today. Due to this ugly truth, low calorie diets, fitness programs, and countless varieties of medications that claim to help you in reducing your weight have sprung into the business industry. If I were to choose from these weight loss options, I would have to go with the natural approach of taking the proper healthy foods or increase my daily physical activity than take pills that might cause dreadful side effects that you would only discover in the late future. Well, it’s up to you which course you’d prefer to take but I have this weird feeling about anything that comes in a pill. So, a low-carb diet might be what I’m looking for. Here is why.
Low carb diets, low-glycemic diets or calorie reduction diets focus on making you eat healthy foods that are high in protein and fiber and reducing the intake of foods containing sugar, starch, and harmful fats. Foods that have to go are soft drinks, fruit juices containing relatively elevated amounts of sugar, whole fruits with high sugar content, pastries including cakes, biscuits, and the like, starchy vegetables like potatoes, corn, and rice. When beginning a low-carb diet, you must consume 20 grams or less of carbohydrates to help your body slowly adapt to non-carbohydrate burning system.
Fundamentally, a low carb food list would appear as follows.
Foods composed of pure fiber: Flax Seeds and Chia Seeds – Not only are they rich in fiber but they are also a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids.
Foods that are almost all fiber: edible Mustard leaves and some types of Chicory – They are also rich in Vitamins A and K.
Foods with more fiber than carbohydrates: Blackberries, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Chard, Collard greens, Hass Avocado, Coconut, and Wheat Bran and similar Cereals – These contain from 2 grams to 12 grams fiber and from 1 to 6 grams usable carbohydrates.
Foods with equal amounts of fiber and carbohydrates: Asparagus, Celery, Eggplant, Mushrooms, Radish, Raspberries, and Romaine Lettuce – These contain from 1 to 8 grams fiber and 0.5 to 7 grams usable carbs.
Executing the low carb diet correctly with some physical exercise will undeniably give you the results you want and deserve.
