13 Year Old Wins Corn On The Cob Eating Contest
Maybe it is just me; but having a 13 year old (who is still a child) enter an eating contest (of any kind) is child endangerment on the part of the parents. As if kids today didnt have enough to worry about these days. Eating contests of these kinds are sickening, demeaning, and a whole lot of other things I am not even going to get into. This poor 13 year old's only job (for right now) should be to be a child; not an eating machine. I would LOVE to chat with her parents about the increasing child obesity problem. I used to be an eating machine and it is not something I was ever (or will ever) be proud of.
Sadly, when I saw her totals the first thing that came to my head was not her "achievement" but instead I wondered how big she was; like many others will. I wouldnt brag about entering into a contest like this. I bet she will get made fun of by her peers; as well as many disapproving adults. Shame on the parents for condoning this behavior. One day it will catch up to her. It is a sad day when people's own claim to fame is winning eating contests. I dont ever want to be remembered for what I could put away in a sitting.
