I Remember When I Couldnt....

I think EVERYONE on this board deserves a round of applause for all their hard work and daily progress. I am very proud of each and every one of you. You not only keep me going; but everyone else around you. (Both online and off). Thank you for sharing your lives; and I hope you continue to do so. I havent had such a solid group of friends since high school. Ok enough of the mush talk....

I want to remind you how far you have come since first starting your lifestyle changes. I dont care if you have lost 5 pounds or 500 pounds; you have changed from who you were then; to who you ARE now. Keep in mind; we are all work's in progress. Soooo, I want to know how you have changed since you first began. What couldnt you do before and now you can?

I remember when I couldnt:

Walk without back pain or heavy breathing
Stop eating although my stomach was screaming for me to stop
Open up to a guy emotionally/physically first for fear of rejection
Wear anything smaller than a very large XL
Drive without the steering wheel in my stomach
Get out of bed in the morning cuz I was so overtired
Keep up with my friends just walking
Last more than 5 minutes on the Elliptical Trainer
Run
Be bothered to keep a food journal
Look in the mirror without wanting to cry
Live my life as I truly wished....

Now I can:

Walk as far as I want to
Stop eating when I am full, create a healthy meal
Open up to a guy about how I feel & I am not scared of being loved
Like what I see in the mirror (for the most part)
Continually push myself at the gym
Inspire others around me to start their own program
Realize my own self worth; I am no longer a management doormat
Move around pain free (unless it is gym inflicted..ha!)
Take control of my life and live the way I have always dreamed of
Control the things I am able to control and let go of what I cant
Fit into smaller sizes than I have in years
Have tons of room in chairs and in my car
Control my weight...It doesnt control me NEVER AGAIN!!

The list goes on!
~Carrie

I really like this post idea Carrie.

I remember when I couldn't:
-climb the 3 flights of stairs to my apartment w/o being tired/out of breath
-run the stairs at the gym with the trainer (well more than 2 or 3 times up)
-didn't feel comfortable wearing my seatbelt because it was tight
-wear a tank top or tighter shirt without being self-concious
-get rid of my cravings for McDonald's cheeseburgers
-walk for more than 1/2 an hour before my feet would swell
-wake up without having lower back pain
-find pants that would fit me from my favourite stores
-drink water (I hated the taste)

Now I can:
-climb the stairs and NOT be out of breath
-run up the stairs at the gym 12 times or more
-I have much more room with my seatbelt
-I wear tank tops ALL the time to workout with my trainer
-I haven't been to McDonald's since Christmas 2005
-make healthy food choices & still enjoy the food
-rarely have any back pain at all
-fit into a medium or size 13 pants
-drink tons of water every day

say that I weight less than 300 pounds
