Toxic Belly Fat

I know that everyone's reasons for wanting to lose weight are different. My top reason is so that I can fit into a bikini and give "my guy" whiplash from doing a double take. But perhaps the below reason should be #1 for all of us....

Let's wipe out this nasty disease too.

In the 'metabolism' post by Missy, a few threads down, she had a link that had a 'healthy body calculator'. It did this 'waist to hip' ratio thing. I was kind of surprised that I am considered an 'apple' shape. I know my midddle is large, but I thought my fat was more well-distributed. But I guess not! It was good to know. I wasn't much over the limit, so I was glad about that. But I do know how dangerous that 'middle' fat can be. And this was the first site I had seen that did that particular calculation. So I recommend you do it. It might be even more important than BMI, weight, and body type.
I want to lose weight to look better too, but my health is my #1 priorty. The 'hotness' factor is a bonus!

You know what? My stomach is the only area on my body that I am absolutely self-concious about. Just looking at all the fat there mortifies me. Sure I still have some fat in other areas..but it ALL seems to be packing around my waist.

I am the same way. I have always been self conscience about it, even when I wasn't overweight. But now, it's what makes me the most uncomfortable -- literally. It's in the way. It's so apparant, every time you sit down. It's also my least favorite place to work. I guess my attitude needs to change!!!

I hear ya...I am totally ashamed about my chest and my stomach. I look ok standing up; but the second I sit down I look like I weigh 200 pounds. I just wish I looked like the person I am now seeing in the mirror...slimmer and more athletic. It would help if my shirts werent so long. But they seem to catch on my stomach and rear end making them look loads bigger than they are. But standing in front of the mirror with the shirt folded just so; I think I look pretty damn skippy!

All in good time my friends...Keep doin' what you are doin' and it will all work out in the end.
