Prayer Request - The Biggest Loser Fansite Forums

Hello! I was wanting to see if you could add my sister, Marsha to your prayers. Marsha is in the hospital once again and is not doing good. This morning they rushed her to Liberty Hospital and when she got there the doctor put her on a ventilator so that she would not asperate...so she is on life support right now due to her breathing and risk of asperating. They are going to try to wean her off the sedatives through the night so they can take the ventilator off tomorrow...the sedatives will do damage to her kidneys if she is on them too long. It is really tough seeing her like this...she is suffering so much. Her body has been through so much these past 6 months...the doctor talked to William before he left tonight and told him about one of her patients. See...Marsha is in and out of the hospital a lot - each time she gets sick her organs are aging. The doctor told him that Marsha had been in the hospital 4 months out of the past 5 months and she is in the footsteps of a 27 year old diabetic that had just lost her battle with diabetes. A 27 year old had died due to complications of her diabetes and the doc says that Marsha is close. She said that Marsha's organs are doubled in age and that when she becomes sick there is nothing they can do for her but pray for the best. She says Marsha will come out of this one but it will take awhile and that she isn't sure how much longer Marsha's body can take it.

Today when I went back to see her I couldn't stay b/c she was in bad shape...I am really starting to get angry with God. I have faith in Him but she is going through so much - how much more can a person take? Not much...she is strong and a fighter but a fighter can only fight so much - she has had enough.

So...I ask for you to please include her into your prayers. Thank you from all of her family.

I will keep you and your sister in my thoughts. I say that because I don't actually pray but I know God hears my thoughts.

Patty I will add your sister and your family to my prayer list. It seems that it is all in God's hands. I know we all get angry at God, but he still loves and listens to us. Have you read "The Purpose Driven Life Book" by Rick Warren. It is a very good book on our purpose in life and why God gives us tasks that seem to big to bare.

Patty I will keep your sister and you and your family in my thoughts and payers.
I echo amandads thoughts on The Purpose Driven Life - it was very helpful to me in understanding God's heart and our relationship with him.

Patty Ann-I will keep your sisters in my prayers.

I also agree with the others about The Purpose Driven Life. My Sunday School class went through the book and it really makes you think differently about why some things have to happen.

I am so sorry to hear that your sister is back in the hospital again. I wish you and your family all the best throughout these hard times. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Footprints in the Sand

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

I appreciate all of you and your thoughts and prayers. I understand that some of you may not pray and I appreciate you having her in your thoughts. I was afraid to post a prayer request but I can see even the ones that do not pray have a KIND KIND heart! Thanks!

I actually have The Purpose Driven Life in my night stand...my mom gave it to me as a gift awhile back ago and I still haven't read it. She has asked if I have read it, too...I think I will be pulling it out tomorrow. Thanks!

Missy...I love that - Footsteps in the Sand is my mom's favorite! As I read through this tonight I began to cry...I understand that HE is there for her, as well as me as we are struggling...it is just hard to realize that we have to live through the hard times and our struggles to fully understand.

Today - they removed the ventilator after they had her completely weaned off the sedatives. She did really well when they removed it...started breathing treatments immediately. As she was receiving her treatment she had cried for my mom - I was the only one in the room with her...I asked her "Do you want Mom?" She shook her head so I called my mom immediately and told her that she was crying for her...mom was on her way in a hurry. It was EXTREMELY tough b/c she had crying spells - she would be okay and then she would wake up and start crying really hard.......she knows that she had the ventilator and she knows how close it was. She is terrified as anyone would be - she misses her kids - she hurts....it was a very emotional day for all of us. I have been talking with God about how I feel (he already knows) but I feel that I have to tell Him - I am doing a little bit better but could be better. I am hoping to be able to go see her again tomorrow but not sure if I'm going to be able to. The nurses said that she is going to have to have xrays on her chest to be sure she doesn't develop pneumonia - if she does develop it then she will have to have the ventilator put back in. We are all hoping for the best.

I have learned that asking others of prayer is not selfish - I would like to ask for the ones of you who do pray to pray for me. As you know I am having a difficult time with God - Himself.

Sounds like yesterday was really tough for you and your family. It's a good sign that she was able to come off the ventilator. Will continue to pray for your sister and your family. Will also pray that God gives you the wisdom and strength to get through this rough spell in your life.
