Lightbulb Target Heart Rate

What is the proper way to determine your target heart rate? The fitness experts at my gym told me what mine should be...but how do you figure it out? I was looking it up online and could only find this....

At the gym the people told me I should be between 126-165...that's the range where I burn the most fat...

This site here tells me 117-156...

I guess they are pretty close..but isn't there something more accurate?

The only HR reading I rely on is the range that my monitor gives me. The ones that are listed on gym machines are for everyone. Not a specific individual. You would do better to have one that is specific for your needs. I am finding that I am burning more fat by staying under my target range. Weird I know...

When I say the gym..I mean the health guy who takes my measurements and checks my hydration and fat % with some kind of machine.

But I still find it confusing that everything tells you something different..I guess that's how the world works though..lol
