My inspiration is I am in a wedding in April and that is my short term goal. But as I see the weight coming off I get more and more into it. I love to find things I can eat that I like and still stay on track. I find it a challenge. Writing down everything also helps inspire me as I see progress, see my goals, and have to account for what I have eaten. Also watching shows like the Biggest Loser is very inspiring for me and feel bad if I havn't been giving it my all when I watch it and it pumps me up again.

I'm guessing that Sandollar1977 graduated in 1977, am I right? I did too!!
My motivation is that I hate the way my clothes feel. It is uncomfortable to be dressed and more uncomfortable to see my self undressed.LOL!!! I finished a 1/2 marathon a year ago and am so disappointed that I let all those hours of work slide away. I am on the road to regaining my strenth and fitness level and will loose the pounds and inches along the way. I decided not to focus on the pounds or inches for awhile. It justs moves too slow in the beginning to keep me motivated. I am instead going to focus on 3 workouts a week for the first month and drinking 64+ ounces of water and watching the portion size and omiting a few of the really BAD foods(chips, ice cream, etc..) and find substitutes that are better for me that I actually like somewhat. Motivator - Tight uncomfortable jeans that used to be my favorite clothes!!!

I think you are going about this the right way - good for you. I wish the best for you! I also don't like the way my clothes fit - I don't even like shopping for myself anymore...I just get too upset when I realize what size I am.

decaf38 what a great idea, working on the fitness portion of it first. That's been my hardest obstacle!!!

Oh decaf, what an idea.... maybe that's what I need to do is just concentrate on exercise and worry about diet later? (Not meaning I'd hog everything under the sun down, but it would be easier to concentrate on one thing instead of trying to balance all of them.)

Motivation

Excellent idea Weaver! I was going to my gym (kind of like Curves) for 30 min, 3 days a week and the progress was slow because I didn't always make it 3 days a week!

So I have starting keeping a journal to motivate me (writing down my feelings, food, goals, weight and amount that I have worked out each day) and I joined a 6 week weightloss contest at work.

I now work out 60 min. a day (40 at the gym, 20 at home on the treadmill) and I have lost 5 lbs. this week. Woohoo! NOW I am motivated! LOL

LOL Weaver!

Sure! Too bad you don't live in Austin. We could go to the gym together! You will get there! Believe in it!

My boyfriend and my personal trainer motivate me a lot. Recently I have been trying to keep myself motivated as well...I've lost about 10 pounds and realizing that I CAN DO IT makes me want to push myself more.
