Did anyone watch American Idol last night? I had class and I forgot to Tivo it. Was it good?

It was better than last weeks (IMO) Kenny Rogers was there (he looks so different) and they did country... So you know Kelly and Bucky were in their element - I don't think Bucky did that great though - but I have never been a huge Bucky fan.
My guess on bottom 3? Mandisa, Ace and Taylor
My prediction on who is going home tonight? Taylor

I'd like to see Ace go home or Bucky. I really don't care for either for them.

Most of the songs sung last night sounded wrong -because they were meant to sing country but didn't have the accent for it. Ace sounded like he was singing a Maroon-5 song, Mandissa also had noticible problems with country music pronunciation, and even Paris made "how do I live" sound like "how do I leave". I didn't like the show at all.

Everyone performing was nervous and floundering, and the whole night wasn't as good. My leat fav performances? Elliot, Taylor, and Ace. These are not my least fav singers. I am with Carrie -I don't like Kelly Pickler. Even though she sang well I hated her song choice. She chose "Fancy", sung by Reba McEntire and also Bobby Gentry. (Look up the lyrics for yourself Fancy)
I'll summarize here. It's a horrible song about a poor mother sending her young daughter out to be a prostitute:
"..It sounded like somebody else that was talkin'
Askin' Mama what do I do
She said be nice to the gentlemen Fancy
And they'll be nice to you.."
Horrible song, no matter how it's sung.

I really liked Elliot, Ace, and Chris last night. Ace has picked it up because his last couple of weeks have been awful.

I usually love Taylor but it was obvious he wasnt in his element last night. They couldnt get Bucky to finish that song fast enough for me. He was horrible. Vertical Horizon did a cover of that song a few years back and I still love it. Katherine was just plain weird last night and so was the song. This is a singing contest, not a contest who can look the most trampy while dancing. (Sorry).

Bottom line? I think Bucky is gone. Taylor and Mandisa have too strong a fan base (at this stage) to get booted. I wouldnt cry if Katherine or Kellie got the boot.

Scary as this sounds...half the time I am now agreeing with Simon. Only I am not as mean with my criticisms. But who cares? It's not like they can hear me anyway.

Carrie...I have found myself agreeing with Simon through most of this year's shows, too. I'm still an Elliot fan but it wasn't all that great this week. I thought that Taylor and Mandisa did a horrible job - that upset me b/c I like both of them. I hope they send Kellie home - she is annoying as he**.

Britt, if you are an AI fan, go to the official site. They have show highlights so you can see little clips of what was going on. They also say who sang what. But we have some huge Idol fans here on the boards and we would be more than happy to clue ya in.

Was it just me or did Elliot look kinda hot last night? Not only that, but he just about made me cry. I was moved by Ace too.

I am getting to the point where I am paranoid. This is usually the time when a "fan favorite" is kicked off and a weaker contestant is saved. Constantine Maroulis and Scott Savol of Season 4 was enough to kill me. Can anyone say rigged???

I think I am going to start a prayer circle to get Miss Tarantula Eyes kicked off. The show is no longer two hours long to listen to her ramblings...I loved when Ryan asked if her "uh being stupid" was just an act.

I am still thinking Bucky is gonna go...Then again, who thought Chicken Little would have lasted as long as he did?

I kind of liked Mandisa, it was sort of sad to see her go. I wish it had been either Ace or Bucky, I'm not too big of fan of Kelly either.

I hate to say, "I told you so." I cant believe Bucky survived another week. Did anyone notice the looks on the judges and other contestants faces? I cant believe Elliot was in the bottom 3 as well. I freaked when Taylor and Chris ended up in the same group. This show is really starting to irk me.

Mandisa was one of my favorites so I was sorry to see her go. But my hubby had a good point - at least now she can get signed and isn't bound by AI contracts.
