What is the new TLC show coming up? Or maybe it has already started. I dont' know -- but it looked interesting.
They show parents what their kids will look like at 40, if they keep the same eating habits they have now, as kids.
I will have to go and check out their web site, to see when it's on.
I think it's an eye opening experience for the people on the show, as well as for the rest of us with kids. Just seeing the commercials for it has made me think about what I'm feeding my kids, and what I'm allowing them to eat.
It's an interesting concept. I'll post more info if and when I get it.

we have this show on in U.K. It is called honey we are killing the kids, and let me tell you it is a real eye opener. it shows parents what their kids will look like if they dont change their eating and life style habbits. One programm hed me shouting at my telly, a mother was letting her 11 year old son smoke, i was absolultely flabbergasted!!! it was really sad seeing a young boy being weaned off ciggerettes! it is a really good programme and when it comes on over there i really reccomend you watch it! It makes you think twice about what you are giving your kids!!!

Yes I saw that episode Helena.
I almost fell off my chair in shock that any mother could allow a child of 11 to smoke. It was appalling and the entire series is an eyeopener.
I am sure the American version will be moreso!!!
A show that I find quite motivating though is 'Ten years younger'. Have you seen that one, the surgery aside ofcourse!!!!
Talking of surgery, what is the view on cosmetic surgery?
Anyone for it or against it?!?!?!
I have to say the jury is still out with me.
Weighing day tomorrow, I am very excited, even though I have had a cold this week and have had to move house, I have stuck to my calories but skipped a few workouts.

That is the address to the TLC website. It will air in the states, Mondays at 9 , 8 central, starting April 10.
I know they want to show the most extreme cases, but I'm kind of disappointed if they focus on parent's who let their kids smoke at 11, or other really extrmeme behavior like that.
I was hoping it would focus more on the things that most of us are probably doing, or more likely to do. I don't think there are too many parents who would let their 11 year old kid smoke!
I would like more info on what fast food, and conveinience foods are doing to our kids. Or hours of video game playing.
Oh, I'm sure they show us that too. I just hope it doens't turn into some kind of freak show, with people who are so bizarre, I can't relate at all!
I didn't look that close, but that web site looked like it had lots of helpful information. It had a recipe section too, that I'm going to take a closer look at some other time.

That was an extreme situation i must admit, but they do show average families aswell, they show you alot of things, like how bad the computers are etc... it does really make you think about what you are putting in your childrens bodys. They have all sorts of people on there, i am sure you could relate to some of the people on there.

So they do actually help people with new diets and all? I was afraid they would just do the first half, the "bad" part and not teach them how to do the good.

They teach them alot of things. they set rules for example, kids cannot watch more than an hour worth a telly a day, and they have to take uo activities ect... ect... soem things like sitting together as a family to eat and not sitting with your dinner on your lap in front of the telly!!
