This is how I stopped pop...
I was also addicted to Pepsi...I drank Pepsi, Sweet Tea, and Milk was the ONLY thing I drank. I had absolutely NO water. I stopped this the day I decided that something had to give...I knew it was up to me and only me! I stopped drinking the pepsi and sweet tea immediately...I couldn't believe how easy it was for me. I drink 80-100oz of water every day...If I want a pop then I will have one with my dinner...only if my calories will be within range. If my calories are already high then I will continue with my water.
I have told myself that if I was going to drink water then it was going to be water...not flavored water, not carbonated water...just plain water. I drink 4-5 bottles of water each day and feel so much better.
I hope that you can find a way to stop the pop - you will feel so much better. Best wishes!

Anything that says diet or low fat on it is something you should look into. Most of those products contain Aspartame which is very unhealthy for you.
Here is a link if you want to look up a few things http://www.dorway.com/badnews.html
I do drink Crystal Light, which also contains aspartame, but I haven't been able to find a solution to drinking water yet..I hate the plain old taste. I have tried squeezing fresh lemon or lime into my water...but I just can't stand it.

LOL -- Stop the POP!!!! My new motto.
I know it can't be good for me. I do enjoy water, and we have a reverse osmosis filter for our drinking water, so it's very good. I love a lemon wedge in my water ( in my pop, too, for that matter)
I have heard some not-so-great things about Splenda too. It's bad for your liver? I don't know....
Whoever said -- Everything in moderation, really knew what they were talking about!

The best way to stop pop? Don't buy it! If it is in my fridge, I will find an excuse to drink it. I am hardly even buying it for my son, when I do I buy him some ridiculous flavor that he likes, but that I cannot stand. For some reason red creme, black cherry and lemonlime just do not tempt me.

thanks for all the suggestions
I am going to start drinking carbonated water and cut down on the soda. Eventually, once I get over the caffeine headaches, I want to cut it out completely.

Good luck giving up the sodas. We only drink diet sodas in our house and not that much of it - maybe a couple of glasses a day - but I am trying to cut down, or at least make sure I drink plenty of water aswell as the soda.

I still drink pop but only if I have had over my goal of water. Then I allow some pop. But one thing I have done is I try to only have diet caffine free pop.

I was never a really big soda drinker...I was a sweet tea nut though. I probably drank well over a gallon of sweet tea a day. I think that's pretty much any person from the south though. Giving up sweet tea was like asking a crackhead to stop smoking crack. I actually think that was harder for me to kick then my cigarettes were.
Thank God for crystal lite. Their Peach Tea is awesome, and it makes it very easy to give up regular sugar. I know with the nutrisystem program, you're allowed unlimited diet soda, and crystal lite. You can have hot tea, and cold tea with no sugar....but you can add splenda to it.
I know for myself, drinking two gallons of water a day is more then enough for me to drink. I don't have room for anything else.
