I was soooooooooo bad lastnight.....

My church had our Valentine's Day dinner lastnight at a really good Italian restaurant. I ate way too much!!!

I ordered the grilled chicken breast for my entree but along with the entree they bring you salad (drenched in oil & vinegar), italian garlic bread (the best I've ever eaten), olives, peppers, munster cheese, spaghetti, ravioli and meat balls. Well, you know I had to sample all of it! I did really bad with the bread. Oh and I stole a shrimp from my brother in law.

There was one great thing that happened though. For those that have read my post about my ex fiance and how we're talking and working on things. He went to the dinner with me and came over to pick me up. Well, lastnight I got dressed and decided to wear some slacks and a top that are pretty form fitting. A long ways from my jeans, oversize t-shirt and sneakers that I wear almost every day. When he walked in the door his eyes got real wide and was like "you're so beautiful", you look so skinny and sexy" Well, of course that made me feel awesome. I could really tell that he was knocked out.

Then when we got to the restaurant I got several compliments about how good I looked. Now, understand, I don't think I look that great, yet. I'm 5'4 and weigh 170 lbs, to me that is a long way from me being skinny but I do know that the diet and exercise is paying off and I can't wait to shed even more and get to my goal!!!! I'm so motivated now!

So, in a way it was a bad night because I over ate but it was also a good night for my self esteem.

canola oil and vinegar are not bad for you at all, that actually sounds like a healthy salad...

munster cheese, spaghetti, ravioli and meat balls...those are where the bad things come in along with the bread. That's a LOT of carbs...but I wouldn't worry about it too much.

It was a special occasion and you seem to be doing a really good job otherwise...170 pounds is awesome! I wish I was there!

Don't beat yourself up about it. Maybe add a little extra workout today and you will feel much better. And as long as it is only a once in awhile thing its not so bad. Keep your chin up and keep going. And that is awesome all the compliments you got especially from your ex. That is always a plus. Let it keep motivating you and you will continue to do great.

Susie, The dinner sounds delish and it was a special occasion. IT was a choice that was made and you just move forward.
Like this coming Friday is mine and my hubby's 5th wedding aniversary and we are planing to go to a restaurant that has an AWESOME seafood buffett. We are going to try to make good choices and eat good portions, but if we don't... we will just enjoy the night, not beat ourselves up over it and move on to the next day
Maybe kick up the cardio a little and drink lots of water

I get 20 a day and then you get 35 flex pts you get for the week. I try to stay away from them that way if I have a bad day it isn't so bad or if I have a special occasion I can splurge a little. But the points are based on your current wt like my husband if he did weight watchers would get 28 pts and as you lose you adjust your pts.

Sounds like you have a great attitude going. Just pick yourself up and get back on track. No need to let it get you down.

You made a choice. You can have those things once in a while as long as you get back and focus on what your plan is.

Glad you got nice compliments!
