When was the last time you looked in a mirror and smiled?
I know for myself looking in a mirror is really hard. I see how much weight I have gained, and feel somewhat ashamed of myself for lacking self control.
However, today I decided that every day I will look in the mirror, and tell myself one thing I adore about myself.
I figure, if I am going to bust my behind working out, and eatting like a rabbit, why not stand in the mirror and smile at myself and say good job as well?!
And you can bet your behind when I lose 15lbs, I am going to do my little happy dance in front of that same mirror. Maybe y'all could do the same?

Everyday!
I started a thread about just that... called WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TODAY TO MAKE YOU FEEL PROUD.... just a place for everyone to stop in a give one thing that was beautiful, good, or wonderful about there day no matter how big or small!!
As for myself I write one good thing in my book each day.. and every night once I am in bed I take 5 really deep breathes(for relaxation) and I tell myself how proud I am for all that I did for ME today!! Makes me fall asleep with a smile on my face.

That's great that today you decided that every day you will look in the mirror, and tell yourself one thing you adore about myself!
Still morning I had that kind of moment. I have lost 14 pounds so far, and several inches I am sure because I pulled an old pair of pants out of my closet this morning and they fit That made me smile. Plus it was nice getting a whistle from my hubby and some complements at work that i was wearing pants that actually fit instead of ones I am swimming in since i lost weigt

Nickey, that is so wonderful! I look forward to the day when my jeans swim on me. So far, I am just pleased I quit smoking, and am making an effort to lose weight. My biggest worry is that I'll push myself to hard, and fail again. This time around, I intend to move slow and steady.
Congrats again!!!!!!

Lady Jami,
I think slow and steady is the way to go. You need to push yourself hard, but you definately don't want to push yourself so hard that you feel you can't do it and give it!

Great question...if this was asked of me a few weeks ago I wouldn't be able to tell you when the last time was that I looked and smiled at myself in the mirror. NOW - I can say that I do it daily. It helps that I have a new trendy hair cut to look at. I have actually been told by my daughter to get out of the mirror. LOL

Isn't it nice to get that whislte from the one we love most? My husband made a comment to me about how proud he was of me for losing 3 lbs in a week...that made me feel good!

Slow & steady is a great way to start out. This way you don't burn yourself out early.

Well Ladies and Gents, today I stood in front of my mirror, and weighed in. I am very pleased to report that in five days, I have lost two pounds. While I realize it's not a massive amount of weight loss, it's very uncommon for a person who just stopped smoking to lose weight.
I am also pleased that so many of you are being supportive. It's really helping me out, and giving me that little extra motivation to keep my hands outta the oreo bag, and in the carrot bag instead.
Thank you....*hugs for all*
Lady Jami
