Suppose.....

I know that when I reflect back upon my life the happiest times were when I was young person. I imagine it is that way for alot of people. We were care free and happy. Maybe the reason I revist those times is because life is so much more complicated and frustrating now. I was so happy and confident back then. I don't care that I was young it was still mine! When I think about it, when I look deep inside I find that I am a unhappy person. I dont think you would know that by talking to me but truthfully I am.

NOW SUPPOSE, If I were to lose all the weight I have dreamed for so long and to gain the confidence and happiness that I have lost, would I be a young person again?

Here here, I know what your saying. I seems like I often look back on my life and have memories of happier times. I think somewhere I lost who I was to the family/parent roll that play now. This taking time to work out for me has been a real eye opener, I am an individual not just a husband/father/taxi/bank. God that felt good to say, thanks for the forum to speak, and have a wonderful day!!!!!!

yes I hear ya too!! I am only 32 too,. for me it's being a mother and wife, and always worrying about this one and that one.. laundry and all that fun stuff.. ackk, sometimes I love to think of the free'er times.

I think we can have the confidence and happiness as much as we can during the weight loss journey.. but I am sure it will help when we are comfortable in our bodies to feel younger.. what I am saying is its good to start feeling good today and not tomorrow.. that is what I am working on.

I too agree! My oldest daughter is 15 and the next one in line is 13. Last summer I got them hooked on alternative music and in doing that I have found some of the joy that I lost. I got so focused on playing the role of a mom that I lost who I was. Now I enjoy being a mom and having a blast listening to music and going to concerts with my girls! People who know me say they haven't seen me this happy and excited about life in a long time. It does feel good to let go and be who I am rather than who I think I should be. I did have to promise my husband that I wouldn't start coloring my hair crazy colors! I think I can live with that.

Take care,
Crimson

I agree totally. For many years I have done everything for everyone and now I am taking the time for ME, and it feels great. Everyone has picked up and doing more of the things I used to do.........which is the way it probably should have been years ago. We deserve to spend time on us.

I relate to these thoughts, too. I was just thinking earlier today about how active I was when I was younger. I was never into team sports or competitive athletics, but I did have a number of outdoor activities that I really enjoyed...biking, skating, swimming, playing with the basketball hoop in the driveway, etc. I remember how free I felt when I'd be riding really fast on my bike.

There aren't a lot of things that I do today that give me that same feeling. I did feel that freedom for the 45 minutes or so that I was ice skating before I took my fall and got hurt a few weeks ago. I felt much younger while I was experiencing that sense of freedom.
