Your Story
Here is my story....
I'm 29 years old. Married. Been overweight pretty much most of my life...of course not as bad when I was younger since I had more energy...(gee I wish we could bottle that up and sell it!)
I've yo-yoed between 225 and 275 for a few years now. A couple of years ago I was up to a little over 50 pounds lost....did this by cutting portions, eating slower, I smoked at that time (bad bad), and I went to clubs/bars and did a lot of dancing and some drinking....well, met my now husband, quit smoking, quit going out, and promptly gained it all back (and then some).
So now I'm trying again...hopefully healthier this time. Small steps. Bad family history...mom had breast cancer (but is a survivor 10+ years now!), dad had diabetes (passed away 5 years ago from complications), high blood pressure, high cholesterol...all that runs in the family....I do have high cholesterol....that's my story....small steps to a big change....
Whats your story?

My Story
I'm 33 years old, married with a 10 year old son. I've pretty much always been slightly over weight my whole life. My parents developed better eating habits after I moved out
Right now I'm at 160 lbs, wearing a woman's size 10 so can't complain to much but still want to lose more. I'm only 5'4" so I should be more in the range of 120-130 lbs. My goal is to be able to wear a bikini.
Like most I've yo'yo'd on dieting, my high was 190 lbs. which I've been at twice in my life. Hopefully I will never see that again. When I met my husband I was 140 which I was happy with, wanted to ton and lose a little more but I was content, but that was also back when I worke dout 5-6 days a week and was living alone so I ate smaller meals. Got married starting making meals and stopped working out. Now my bad habit is sitting in front the tv at night feeling crappy, hollering at myself to get moving, but I don't seem to do it and can't figure out why....
My goal is to start working out again and watching what I eat, the combination of the pointers I learned from "Make Over America" and "Biggest Loser" should set me on the right path

2BALoser2, your story sounds pretty similiar to me. I'm 36 years old. I got up to 192 lbs last January and am now down to 171, still a long ways to go but I'll get there.
I'm also 5'4 and my goal is to weigh between 140-145. If I can make it there then maybe I'll want to lose more then that but right now that's my goal. I use to weigh 140 about 15 years ago and thought I was overweight then..oh, how our thinking (and body) changes as we get older.

Smoking
I am with you Sand Dollar. I am still smoking and am afraid to quit right now because everytime I try, I gain a bunch of weight. Kudos to you for quitting!!!

Quitting isn't easy. I'll admit to that. But its so worth the temporary extra pounds. I can laugh without coughing. I'm not sick as much (I used to get sick 10+ times a year with a cold, bronchitis, etc....but since I've quit....I've only been sick twice!)! Food tastes better...I smell better....my hair, my clothes, my skin....I feel so much better! I can exercise without feeling like someone is ripping my lungs out! Believe me its worth every single pound to know I will be here a while longer with my new husband...to know that I have control over my life!
Good luck!!!

I'm sorry but I forgot to congratulate you on stop smoking. I never smoked and don't know how hard it is to stop but it is nice to see when one stops.
CONGRATS!
