Tyra Banks

Ok -- you said 'whatever', so that's what you're getting..
I happened to catch an 'America's next Top Model' marathon on Sunday. The season that had the twins...
I didn't watch it all, but saw enough to have to wonder, who does Tyra Banks think she is? Wow -- a little egotistical, you think? I thought she was bloody awful as a host, and maybe even worse as a mentor for these girls.
The judges comments seemed random, based on nothing more that their own personal whims.
I hated it. And, of course, the one girl who was probably the most beautiful, and had the best figure was considered 'too fat'. Ugh!
Stupid show--- I never gave tyra banks much thought, but now I am so not a fan......

And they wonder why models, gymnasts, ballet dancers etc suffer from bulimia or anorexia...

I am not a psychiatrist but I can see a link here between success and looks...and eating disorders.

Thin is in
Fat is ugly

Vanessa Minillo was also under fire for her Fat Ugly Expose. (GOOD!!) I cant stand her. Tyra also donned a fat suit for a day. Tough life. They can shed the weight; when there are real people that suffer with it day in and day out. They may have walked a mile in our shoes; but they can only speak on it when they have lived an entire lifetime in our shoes.

I don't understand Tyra because on one hand she does the top model show...but her talk show is nothing like the other one. I have seen her talk show and she has issues on there regarding weight issues etc and she seems sincere when she talks about them...yet on the top model show she's telling skinny girls they're fat. I don't get it..

Yeah -- back to Tyra.... Missy is so right. Because she does seem to be on both sides of the issue.
She was blasted recently for being 'fat'. 161 pounds, at 5'10".
She responded that her weight has fluctuated between 148, and 161 since she retired from modeling. And that since she is retired, she is no longer needs to meet those strict 'modeling' requirement.
So... I still don't really like her. That fake drama on America's Top Model was enough to turn me off.
But... I respect her for letting herself be a 'normal' person, and not freaking out about putting on a little weight.
She says she still feels 'hot'. And she definitely is. I guess I wish she would try to do something about the freakishly thin modeling standards though.
I guess awhile back, 3 or 4 Brazillian models died from anorexia? And the modeling industry was taking a lot of heat about it. And the one model ... Giselle something or other.. says it's not the modeling industry, it's the family, and that she has never had a problem because she has such a supportive family. But how can you not blame an industry that puts so much pressure on girls to be sooooo thin? Maybe the ones with a supportive family can endure it better, but I thought that was a pretty lame defense for the modeling industry. I don't know -- it's kind of like my mother-in-law and cigarettes. It's proven that they cause cancer, but since she smoked, and doesn't have cancer, then they must be making that stuff up! Anyone else know anyone like this?
Wow- I am really being random tonight.

I actually heard about that modelling thing too...and I heard they are supposedly going to change fashion industry size standards and not accept the walking sticks they have on there now.
