Good job!!

Drinking water has been a big success for me the past week or so. I use to go days without drinking water and lots of Dr. Pepper.

Yes, Sweet drinks. Coffee in the morning with cream & sugar. Soda with lunch & dinner. Tea and a cookie(s) before bed. Those are my vices.

I replaced the cream with fat free- the sugar with splenda, milk with skim, and there is no cookie now. There is instead bran ceareal, w/o milk. I nibble on it and it is crunchy like chips. Not too bad.

I miss soda and Ice tea, but I drink more water and sometimes add lemon.

Good Job

Keep up the good work! You can still allow yourself the things you love (actually it would be best to not totally take it all away or you will be tempted to cheat and that could lead to overdoing it)....you can have decaf tea sweetened w/ splenda....and there are all kinds of yummy good for you cookies out there for that extra special occasional treat!

Talking My Good News

have been at my job for almost a year and we can wear jeans on Friday. I had never wore jeans to work 'cause none of mine fit (and I refused to buy a size bigger than 32).
Today I am wearing jeans!!!

I gave up a 4-6 can of Pepsi a day habit 2 weeks ago cold turkey. I decided not to go diet cause 1st of all I don't like the taste and don't want to get use to it and 2nd because I know I need to drink more water.

Good luck to everyone on their journey

Great job on giving up the soda, that was a hard one for me. I have a Deit Sprite once in a while. I hate diet colas!!!!!! I have been buying crystal lite (I lke the pre-bottled ones the best) and drinking lots of water. It's hard to get into the habit of it, but once you are it's actally pretty easy to drink a lot of it.

My successes....

I have just started working on losing my weight. I have started drinking LOTS of water and have smaller portions at dinner time. I have started snacking healthier - a smoothie instead of ice cream - celery instead of a sandwich. I have also started walking around a trail - I walk around it 4 times and it equals to a mile. Yesterday I walked a mile and a half - my little girl wanted to come in early....I didn't want to stop walking.

As soon as we have the money my husband is buying me an Elliptical - I am excited about getting started on this. I just wish that I had a buddy to workout with - my husband can't do it at this time b/c he has a bad knee...he goes into surgery in less than a month. Although, he is excited about getting it fixed so that he can start working out...it'll be great - the both of us working out and eating healthy.
