sorry, TBL is still going here so can't quite join in that griping.
But I am sick of people going to me ' so i think you must have some news to tell me?"
Last time was last week tuesday at the melbourne cup function where I had dressed up and a woman who hadn't seen me for about 2 -3 years assumed I was pregnant. It is always said in front of a bunch of people and I have to say no actually, I'm not, I have just put on weight. Everyone casts their eyes down and shuffles and looks embarassed. It is absolutely mortifying for me and I can't stop thinking about it.
For someone who has fertility issues it is hard enough. Yes I have a fat stomach at the moment now fuck off!!! That's what I feel like saying. But I don't. And when you have made an effort to look the best you can it makes you feel even worse. I am just lucky my husband didn't hear - he would have been absolutely beside himself - with me, and blamed me for looking like that in the first place. Yes, it would have made me feel even more miserable.
Why can't people not assume??? I feel bad enough as it is about my weight without someone always bringing it up.

You know, I think pregnant people expect someone to say something to them about their coming baby. Otherwise I think they're dissapointed somehow, but if you're not sure it is a baby you really shouldn't say anything.
That must've felt really horrible -I'm sorry it happened. You were really brave not to just burst into tears and hide. I might have. I'm glad your husband wasn't around too if he's not going to defend you when people say crap like that. Keep your chin up Louie, people will be so impressed that you were able to get your weight back down you'll be hearing compliment after compliment before you know it. And besides, it doesn't matter a whit what anyone else thinks as long as you like yourself and are making yourself proud -I learned that the hard way reccently. It's nice, but really doesn't matter at all in the end. You matter though.
Cheers, Jules

Louie~
That would have been a very uncomfortable situation! People can be so rude, can't they? So frustrating. Knowing me I probably would have told them to fuck off
I have a an acquaintance, a friend from highschool ( I use friend very loosely here) who walked up to one of my best friends and said "that is such a cute outfit you are wearing, it would look great on you if you were about 50 pounds lighter". I flipped and told her if she didn't have nothing nice to say, then to keep her mouth shut. I told her how rude she was.........nowadays, if she is going to be at a function, I really have to prepare myself for her. There are those type of people who just don't know when to be polite and keep their thoughts to themselves!
Sorry that your husband would have had that response, that is also frustrating...........

"No dear I'm not pregnant but you seem to be suffering a severe case of foot in mouth disease" is the correct response, not "F**k off" as has been suggested.
And another thing. A Proper Gentleman would not belittle his wife like that. Hoof him in the plums and let him walk home.

Sorry you guys had to see that. I have been gone all day and just walked in the door. Right now I seem to be the only spambuster we have. I am trying to give Susie a kick in the tush to come back and help me. This moderating is turning into a full time job. I intend on asking Aaron if he can upgrade my superpowers so I will have the opportunity to ban members at my disgression. Regular spam is annoying; but crap like the link that was pm'd to me is beyond offensive. This is a weight loss site; not a place for people to get their rocks off. A while ago I made up a phony screen name and registered for this site because I wanted to see how easy it was. Methinks we need a tighter registration process; either that, or give me the power to ban. I want people to come here and feel comfortable; not violated. I will get on this ASAP. My sincerest apologies to those who had to see that particular link.
Phil the answer to your question is yes; this site is moderated but I cant be here 24-7 as much as I would like to. Thanks to everyone who has alerted me to the offending posts.

I know that nobody was tossing the blame on me. But it really peeves me off. They could've just posted the stupid link; we didnt need the "balloon graphics". I liked it before when nobody knew our forum was here. But just like ants; when you see just one, more are sure to follow.
