I lost

I just wanted to check in and let everyone know that I am still around and I am keeping up with everyone on this site.
Well today was my weigh in and I lost 4lbs. I am really trying very hard to lose this weight. I did go out and purchase me a new pair of pants. I really was surprised that I can now fit a size 14. I was shouting so loud in the store my sister was telling me every body can hear me. Today I am going out and get my nails done. I am so happy at this moment.

The hoilday's are coming up very fast and I am trying to plan out my meal plan. I do know that I have a couple of parties to attend in the coming months and I really want to be able to enjoy myself without feeling that I don't want to go because I will not be able to eat this or that. I am just going to try and not have my snacks on the day of the parties so that I will be able to enjoy some of the things that are out.

I see that everyone is doing well...Well I'm off to workout with Billy Blanks

Take Care ...We all are winners

Yay, Francine! Weight loss AND a smaller size...that's awesome, I can see why you were shouting so happily in the store!

I'm also looking towards how to eat sensibly during the holidays. Yesterday was my stepson's 18th birthday, and we had a birthday dinner at our house. My husband made his awesome Swedish meatballs, and I made a chocolate birthday cake. I did okay with calories for the day, because I ate mostly low-fat proteins and vegetables earlier in the day, and I figured out ahead of time how much I could eat for dinner. And I was down a pound this morning, so that was good!

The most challenging part was to not eat the chips, sodas, etc. that my teens were eating before dinner. However, since I'm not eating that kind of stuff very often anymore and I'm mostly eating healthier foods, I find that processed type stuff doesn't taste as good to me anymore. I really am liking simpler, more natural foods these days.

One nice thing about the holidays...some of the foods are actually really good for you. Turkey, lean cuts of ham, sweet potatoes, etc., can all fit well into a healthy eating plan.

Sue

Hi Francine! I'm very happy for you! I think it's really smart to look ahead, like you are, and planning what you are going to do about the holiday parties. I think I am going to eat at home and try to not eat at the parties. But that's just me. We each got to do what we feel we got to do.

Good luck. Keep up the good work!
