Your Life As A Song

I am posting this here because I am sick and tired of competing with the damn spam. I am so frustrated I am rhyming again!

If you could put your life to music; what song would reflect your life? This is tough because there are a lot of good songs out there.

Here are my top 2 picks...

1) "Proud" (Heather Small) Because I am proud of the direction my life has taken since losing weight, I am proud of what I have accomplished by myself, and I am proud to be me...for once. I havent felt that in a long long time.

2) "Ressurrection" (John Debney) I am going to come back better than ever; just like the proverbial Phoenix that rises from the ashes. Or Stephano DeMira for those of you that used to watch "Days Of Our Lives." I may have been down and out...ready to quit and say the heck with it; but dont ever count me out of the game. I am ready to play now.

Right now, I am in love with Hate Me by Blue October...just because of all the crap that's happened in my relationship and the hardships we've had to overcome.

The Rose by Bette Midler

Running by No Doubt

that's just a few...

I'm really going to have to do some thinking on this one. There are so many songs I identify with. There are songs that have special meanings, and memories for me, from different stages in my life.
It's a lot of songs to think about! I, like so many of you, like everything. The only 2 things I can say that I honestly haven't ever, and don't think I ever will enjoy are the soprano opera type singer, and most rap. I guess it's the hard core rap that I can't stand. I really don't like any of it, but I know I've heard some, by say someone like Will Smith, that I've semi-enjoyed. His 'Men In Black' song? I can't even remember it, but I remember the video, and I know I liked it.
I'm really not a fan of the 'barbie doll pop star' thing either. Brittney, Jessica and Ashley simpson.... I don't know-- they are popular for more than their voices.
Isn't the Simpson's Dad a preacher? Or he was? Maybe I'm remembering wrong , but in any case, how can any father watch his daughter sex it up so much, and encourage and support it? I think some of Jessica's stuff is pretty bad. ( I think I saw parts of 'these boots are made for walkin') Even though they are adults, I still think it's shameful the way they market themselves. I don't know if Britney's career is over or not. I hope she can deal with it if it is, and take care of her kids. I don't know-- hope she's happy, but that husband of hers is as smarmy as they get isnt' he? Although I think he got a makeover -- he sure needed it.
Ok -- I've officially hijacked this thread! Sorry-- just running off at the mouth, for no good reason. I'll think about specific songs, that I really identify with. Thanks for putting up with me!

I have thought of a few that have special meaning for me. They don't really sum up my life, but I'll mention them anyway.

'Through the Years' by Kenny Rogers, was very special to me in high school. I was so grateful my parent's were together, when so many of my friends families were splitting up. It's also always been my goal - to stay with someone through the years. I"m doing pretty good -- it will be 18 year of marriage this fall!

'Baby Baby' by Amy Grant completely expressed how I felt when each of my children was born. I didn't know at first that she had written this for her baby, but after I heard that, I listened to it a little more closely, and just fell in love with it. I can't hear that song now, without getting that feeling -- that completely 'in love' feeling you get with a newborn baby. I still have it too! But when it first hits you, it's overpowering. Kind of like nothing else exists but that sweet baby!

That's all I've come up with for now. If I think of more, I'll post them. Yeah yeah, I know-- you can hardly wait!!
