Welcome Glen!!

It's nice to have you here. Tell us more about yourself. What diet/exercise program have you tried?

I've found what works for me is just cutting back, eating healthier, watching calories and fat and exercise is definately a major part of it. I started off doing The Biggest Loser workout DVD, it's awesome and now doing Pilates.
Drinking lots of water is a must and cutting out all soft drinks. I do have a Diet Dr. Pepper every once in a while.

Good luck and let us know more about you!

I really been trying to personally watch my calories and I use FitDay.com to log everything in...very helpful, and it shows you what percentage of fat, protein and carbs you are eating everyday. I wish you the best of luck.

Try eating more meals, smaller portions throughout the day. I usually eat 5-6 meals a day..each about 2-2 and 1/2 hours apart. It helps to keep your metabolism running steady and burning that fat off!

I drink about 2-3 litres of water everyday too...well, when I'm being good *lol*

I go to the gym 5 times a week as well doing a combination of weights and cardio.

Hi Glen

You've got a lot of great tips from people above but I also know that unless you're brand new to weight loss, you already know pretty much all there is to know- it's really a matter of DOING IT. I wasn't sure from your message if you were brand new to this sight or actually trying to lose weight.

This forum is great- browse as often as you can b'c the people on this site are supportive, encouraging and helpful. There are recipes, and weight loss techniques and we welcome your thoughts, ideas and inspiration as well

Going back to your original post, as Susie said, if you're more specific about what you have tried already, then perhaps people can try and help you more...

Good luck and my one tip for the day- try to incorporate even one incidental form of exercise in a day- eg- climbing stairs instead of taking the lift, or getting off a stop early at the train station. It might not seem a lot, but it certainly helps to build up to more exercise and less weight!

The biggest thing is to find something you like to do such as biking, walking or running because if your doing stuff you don't like it will not last. Remember also you don't have to be stick at your house or local gym to get excercise. If you like to walk find a nice river or lake and walk there, go to a park and take a walk through the woods. you will be suprised at how much easier it is to walk in this type of environment then it is to walk on the street or in a gym on a treadmill.

Watch what type of foods you eat, I would try and stay away from lots of red meat and eat chicken and fish more. Don't cut red meat out if you like it, just tone it down. Also watch your breads, I use to be a big bread fan but now I don't eat it much but I will if I want to but I usually don't have that carving.

If you can find a partner who will help keep you going, this will help a lot also. If you have question keep asking them I'm sure someone will know the answer and try and help.
