Aromatherapy for Weight Loss

*I was looking at sites today and found this to be sort of interesting. Has anyone tried anything like this before???

Juniper Essential Oil: Juniper will help to detoxify the body.

Fennel Essential Oil: Fennel is a diuretic.

Rosemary Essential Oil: Rosemary will help to stimulate the lymphatic system, which helps to enable the body to remove waste products.

Applications:

Use these oils as a massage and in baths (to include foot baths).

Caution: Rosemary and fennel oils must not be used by those with high blood pressure or epilepsy.

Talking

What a good idea! I am a sucker for anything that smells good...Like Glade scented candles, and bubblebaths. The sense of smell is more powerful than we think. I hear that Vanilla is supposed to kill cravings. Same with Peppermint. As Toucan Sam always says, "Just follow your nose!" Well I have, and it always used to get me in trouble. Especially when the scent is "Hugo Boss For Men." Talk about weak in the knees....

can i just say aswell if you are going to use essential oils on your body you need to use a carrier oil as putting them straight on your skin can cause irritation. Aromatherapy is an excellent way to relax you and it also has many healing properties to.

I love aromatherapy- and when I am exercising at home (perhaps just yoga, and stretching) i tend to dim the lights, and light an aromatherapy candle or my oil burner- it helps relax you but at the same time invigorate you.

With regards to picking the right scent- follow your instincts- smell several and pick ones that you form an affinity with straight up.

Enjoy!

be careful if you are pregnant too, rosemary should only be used in late pregnancy, avoid fennel too.

aromatherapy is great but to lose weight I don't think so. What I would do is workout really hard and after the workout run a bath and enjoy the smell of the aromatherapy. it will help you relax after a nice hard workout and maybe help you body recoup faster,so you can get back out there tomorrow.

Just my opinion anyway.
