For those of us who are obsessed with the number on the scale, it's better to take a measuring tape and measure everything. If you don't notice the numbers on the scale going down but see you are melting away the inches...you must be doing something right!

The scale is not accurate because muscle weighs more than fat. So if you gain on the scale, you automatically assume you got fatter or are doing something wrong when it's not always the case.

It's the inches lost that matter the most, not the numbers on the scale!

You are absolutely right! If I hadn't have gotten measured at my gym, I would have been seriously depressed! To find out that I gained muscle in my arms and thighs but lost 4 1/2 inches was a real boost. Plus, I know it was muscle because they checked my body fat and I was down almost 2%. So if your weightloss is getting you down, get out the measuring tape and surprise yourself!

The scale was almost 6 pounds heavier than last Moday morning when I weighed Just to check my theory, I did to the little scale dance and moved my feet more towards the sides and the scale dropped another 5 pounds
So I decided that I am going to make sure I weigh staning right in the middle and with no scale manipulation starting next monday, so with our anniversary and 2 different dinner parties this weekend and no scale manipulation I wouldn't be suprised at a 5+ pound gain. I will hate to see it, but it will get me on a more honest track.
