Kissing Excess H2O Goodbye
Is there any (healthy) way to get rid of excess water? As much as I use the restroom, I am still holding enough to mess up my weigh ins. This morning I was 160.9 and later I was 159.8. I am one of those vain people that yes, an extra pound makes all the difference. Any advice would be great!!

Hi Carrie,
I could be wrong so you might want to look into this a little, and this may sounds strange, but I have heard that if you want to get rid of excell water... you should drink more water.
Like I said, I just heard this somewhere, so I really don't know if it's true or not

Thanks guys, I am willing to try anything. Although I am hesitant to try pills. Beginning to think I am 100% water these days.

Try either honey dew mellon or musk mellon. They work well for my m-i-l and me.

This is what I do for water weight gain and it does really work. It's sounds stupid but it does work.

Water Weight
OK I am a water balloon a lot of the time . this last week was horrible...ankles the size of baseballs...I have prescribed water pills that I only use when it is bad.. but you can get some natural water pill at walmart that help...when mine act up nothing helps but my pills... and I drink a lot of water... but drinking lots of water when you have swelling helps cause it tells your body that it is OK to release the excess water you have in the tissues... it stores it as a result of to much sodium in your system..it thinks it need it to balance the sodium in your tissue... so if you feed it more it knows it can release.
Hope this made sense and helps,
DAMZEL

Yes my dear the only way to really get rid of excess water weight is to drink more water. Your body is holding on to what it has because it figures it dosent get enough but if you hydrate enough it WILL release your excess stores. Of course wtching the salt intake wont hurt also

Your body is hording water because you either have too much sodium or caffeine in your system. (That is not the only reason it could hord water, but it is 2 suggestions.) Definitely drink more water. Take it from me, you don't want to go the water pill route unless it is absolutely necessary. The reason that I say this is, because I have always gotten on the scale a lot too, and a half pound also bothers me (did you know your weight can fluctuate up to 8 lbs. during the day?) I know that and still cannot stay off the scale-lol! Well I used to take water pills when I was younger. Everytime the scale dipped up a couple of pounds I was off to Walley World for my water pills. I didn't realize then that I just wasn't eating healthy and working out enough. I hate to think what I did to my system at such a young age. So drink more water please, I promise that unless there is a medical reason why your body is holding on to the water, it will let it go. Hope this helps.

Water
I have been reading so many posts about water weight gain. I really didn't think that you could carry the "excess" water if you were exercising and eating right. I haven't read much on this topic but will be doing so. When I weighed in on Thursday I was nervous b/c it is the time of the month for me - and after reading all the posts about water I thought that maybe I was carrying some "excess" water. As a result of my weigh in I found that I had lost another 3 lbs - the nervousness went away instantly and I became excited. I drink 100 - 120 ounces of water a day...I try to get at least 80-100 every single day. There have been a couple of days I did not get to my goal but that is okay because I am still drinking lots of water. I drink water through the entire day and it settles a lot of my hunger pain...I do not have an urge to get food or snack if I have my water. I am not replacing any meals with my water - it is just something I have through my day. I feel much better now that I have cut out my pepsi and sweet tea. I hope that none of you are cutting your water back b/c the fear of the extra weight.
