How often do you weigh yourself?

Just wondering how often everyone steps on that scale?!

I was going to do it every Monday morning. A friend of mine weighs herself once a month because she said she likes to see a big number which encourages her more.....but I know there is no way I can hold out for an entire month. The suspense would kill me!

I think that question is open to debate. Some people say forget the scale, go by how your clothes fit. Others weigh themselves daily. I've always weighed myself every Tuesday morning right after I get out of bed and use the bathroom. I've always hated the daily fluctuations with water weight, etc. It drove me crazy so I limited myself to once a week. However, I bought the Biggest Loser Weight Loss Planner published by Prevention magazine and it has a place for you to record your weight each day so I've been weighing myself each day this week (158.0 first day, 155.2 second day, 156.0 today). I'm also in the New Years Resolution Challenge on the WeighIns.com site so I'll be logging in my weekly weight each Monday there. I've kind of set up a goal and rewards system for myself for encouragement. When I reach 145 I'm going to go get Zoom 2 whitening for my smile. When I reach my goal weight of 135 I'm going to treat myself to a spa getaway for three days. I've been stuck in a rut since August and my weight hasn't dropped into the 140's so I signed up for the challenge and set up these two rewards for myself. My hubby is 100% behind me and even said he'd work overtime to pay for the rewards.

Hey Dorie ~

I think what I'll do is weigh myself every Monday morning. I think it would be neat to do it once a month to see a big loss but I think doing it once a week would keep me in line so I know how I'm doing or when I need to step things up a notch or two.

Setting goals and rewards is a great idea I think. I'm going to do the same.

Everyday I mesure my weight and body fat percentage and than average it out at the end of every week. Weight varries every day due to different variables so you need an average over time.
It also would not be a bad idea to measure your waist and take your blood pressure once every week.

I weigh myself every morning when I wake up because I am compulsive with the scale. I don't let the number get to me too much. Sometimes it's really frustrating not to see it go down, but as long as it isn't going up I'm generally okay with it.

Once a week. It's too dissapointing and emotional to weigh every day with all the fluctuations. Just weigh yourself at the same time of day every day to have equal comparisons (and on the same scale). Cheers!

I am trying a new method, I now tend to measure myself more often than weigh myself, as I found that as I was building muscle, I started to gain weight
