Very Interesting Book "Picture Perfect Weight Loss"
A friend loaned me this book called "Dr. Shapiro's Picture Perfect Weight Loss: The Visual Program for Permanent Weight Loss." It is really interesting. I haven't read all of the text yet, but I've looked at all the pictures, and they really make an impression on me! This book makes it so clear how important all of our food choices are over the course of a day, a week, a year, etc.
There are many big color photos in the book that show you how many calories are in one food versus how many in another. For example, there's a picture on one page of 530 calories of traditional American picnic food--just a little bit of hot dog and sausage and macaroni salad.
Then across from that on the next page, it shows you that you could also eat 530 calories at a barbecue by having a huge plate of shrimp skewers and grilled vegetables, even corn on the cob, and a big plate of watermelon for dessert. Way more healthy, way more tasty, and way more food.
Really interesting! Look for this book if you get a chance!
