Support
I am so happy this website is here. On this weight loss journey I decided I needed to really add in some support systems. I have many in place this time and that will make the difference. Besides I love "The Biggest Loser" so that makes it even better.

I have a friend who was told she was borderline diabetic and that if she didn't make some changes really quck she was going to be diabetic. She's been using the South Beach Diet for almost a year now, and she's probably lost nearly 60 lbs. It's working for her, but I think any descent program would work well for her. She's motivated to prevent the diabeties from setting in.

Now I am finding out that over 90% of women who have gystaional diabeties will have Level 2 diabeties. So in one month time I have lost 16 pounds not a lot but I continue the efforts daily. I really would love to win The Biggest Loser Book and DVD I am really ready to make change in my life and feel these would be the total support I need. I need to lose about 65 more pounds

Thank You
Aaron...I want to take this time and thank you for providing us with a great forum. It is nice having a place to go and talk with people who are struggling to lose weight - all for FREE! I definitely need more support and motivation from others - I absolutely LOVE the show! I am a new viewer of the show - I haven't seen it in the past! I have watched it for the past 2 months - it is terrific what this show does for others. I would love to be able to get the DVD and book - as a matter of fact, I have asked my husband to buy it for me. I am needing lots of help on how to eat healthy and what exercise regimen is best for me. I am on my way to losing the weight this year. I currently weigh 245 and my goal is to be 145 again.
THANKS again! You are the best!

Your welcome patty ann,
Glad to see that you found us. Im really hoping this does turn into a great place for support for weight loss and can everyone can get the help/inspiration that they need. Also this site will always be %100 free so you dont have to worry about that. Also I am planning a bigger give away, probably a treadmill.
But that wont be for atleast a month. So stay tuned.

Hi, I am a newbie to this site, as well, and am sure glad it is here!
I have watched Biggest Loser from the beginning, and think it is a GREAT way to show people that diet and exercise actually work in enabling people to lose weight! I know it is something I personally had forgotten, since the market is saturated with diet pills and quick fix surgeries and products. I think the best aspect of the show is that the contestants ARE overweight and out of shape when we first see them, unlike many of the exercise videos that I have tried to use. I watch the videos with "already fit" people on them, and eventually convince myself (yes, a cop-out, I know!) that I am not going to be physically fit enough to keep up, defeating myself before I even get started! So, alas, I am not physically fit AT ALL, and need to lose about 150 pounds!!! I have lost 16 so far, but need to do much better!

Welcome to the forums HappySmileGirl I am glad you found us!
I agree with you on the quick fix stuff. I think it has to be done the old fashion way. Exercise with a balanced diet. Congratulations on your weight loss so far! 16 pounds is something to be really proud of. Would love to keep hearing from you on your quest.

Thank you for replying so quickly! I have some questions about the site that I did not find answers to in the FAQ section. For example, how can I view people's userpages or profiles other than mine? Or is that not an option?

Click User Pages. Its located on the navigation bar near the top of the screen.
To view profiles you just click on their name in a post and a drop down menu will apear. There you will hit View Public Profile. So if you are reading this click Aaron next to my picture and you will see it.

Awesome forum!
I think it is great that there is a forum for us to come to and discuss the show! Best of all, it is free!! Woohoo! I was very excited to have a place to come and discuss all of my weight and weight loss issues with people who understand just where I am coming from. I am in my 30's and have always thought of myself as being heavy. Unfortunately I didn't know how heavy I would get until I had my son and weighed over 200 lbs! My son is now 11 and I still weigh just under 200. I have done all of the fad diets and am looking to make a real change. I am so inspired by what I have seen on the tv show. I was looking for information on the book and was wondering who Maggie Robinson, PhD was? We never hear about her. I noticed that she is one of the major contributors of the book and would like more information.
