where are the older women?

I would to see (and participate in) a special edition challenge that involved older women (40 +) vs. younger women 20 - 40. I think that we older women are sadly represented. I see older men on this show alot. I think we women deserve a 2nd chance at thinness too.

I think that would make for a really good show. I think they should dedicate the special edition shows to doing something like this!

Welcome to the boards

thanks for the input. I hope they do some special editions after the season. The shorter time at the ranch and the quicker dip back into reality was very interesting.

I agree with you. I really like when they have the special editions especially when the seasons are over. It gives me something to watch for a filler show...I always miss watching the biggest loser when it's not on..so the mini shows are awesome.

LOL....in my call back audition in Seattle...I joked with them about that! I am 48 yrs "young". During my 1st audition the casting agent seemed to be hung up on my age. She thought that if I made it on the show....excuse me....only thinking positive...."WHEN" I make it on the show, that I would be the oldest person on it. I see that they have a women on Season 3 that is 53 (I think).

In the beginning of the 2nd audition... I was telling the casting agent about the age thing....I said....you are thinking about casting me for a geriatric version are you?

Too funny. I am just new to this site but are there any members here that have participated in the Biggest Loser Challenge?

No, the oldest woman on Season 3 is Heather, at 36. She's the third oldest, overall. The oldest person is Ken at 43 then Wylie at 40.

Women have a tougher time losing weight than men. Older people have a tougher time losing weight than younger people. On average.

If you go to the full 50 people that were originally chosen.....the oldest was from Idaho at 53 (at least I think that is her age)!

I am still hoping for a chance at 48 yrs young.

Yup, the 53 yr old grandma, and she's still in it. Linda from Idaho I believe. She's making progress at home too. I'd love to see a show with older women too.

Hey, now, who is calling 40's "older" women? And why would the producer worry about someone being the oldest on the set? That would never occur to me. Naturally, someone is going to be the oldest on the set. If someone is audtioning to be on it, it doesn't matter to that person. Now you've got me thinking that the Biggest Loser is discriminating against mature women. That's too bad.
