I'll try to answer both of the above quotes the best that I can.

If the application says you only have to be 18 then I would go for it! You never know what they are looking for or if they might look for teens for one of the special editions that they have done. Any way, if you're interested then give it a try!

As for the standing in line for the open auditions....I got there about 7:00am, it was about a 3 hour drive, and I ended up being #22 in line. I did pack a lunch and brought some stuff to work on while I waited but I had so much fun talking to the people around me that I didn't need any of it. I also brought a chair to sit in which would have held my place in line for potty breaks. They came out and gave us all bracelets which were numbered so that holds your place in line as well. Hope that all helps!

In Nashville for the one last year we got there before lunch and were there till 8 pm. There were well over 500 people there before us and probably just as many after us by the time we got to the door. The line rounded a city block.

I don't know how many people they got to after us but it was pretty late for them to still be there.

I think it's great that you all are auditioning, but remember, even if they don't pick you it doesn't mean you can't start a new lifestyle for yourself. You have made the right step in wanting to lose the weight and live a healthier life, so if you don't get picked, don't let it get you down. You should still try to educate yourself with all the resources out there and learn healthy eating and exercise habits. This forum is a great place to get the support you need for it as well.

But, best of luck on being picked!

Hey OKC,
Congrats on the call back! I plan on attending the Houston Open Casting Call on the 21st. I was working on my video when I saw the audition posted. What did you have on your tape? Maybe I'll see you in line. What time do you plan on going? Do you have to wait in line since it's a call back? Does anyone have suggestions or info. about the open casting call? What do you wear? What do they ask you? How much time do they spend with you?

Hey....it sounds like people know more about Season 4? Here are my list of questions....
1) Are they holding live auditions again?
2) If so....when and where did they post it?
3) This is for "Crimson".....in a pervious post you said it was a 3 hr drive for the Seattle audition....where are you from?

I am in a holding pattern.....I have heard back from 3ball a few times. Last time was mid December to confirm some information on my application. At that time they said they were expecting to cast in Feb. and start filming mid-March!

Does anyone have any other updates?

Junk in the Trunk: I live in SW Washington. I thought I saw on one of your posts that you are from Portland? We're almost neighbors! Is the waiting just killing you? Time feels like it is just dragging.

Hey Ya'll,
NBC posted a new open casting call for season 4 on thier website. I will be in line at the Houston call Jan. 21st. Can anyone shed some light on what time to get in line, what to wear, what happens inside, etc? I was in the process of making my video when I saw the casting call, so I put down the camera and decided to go in person instead. Best wishes to all.

Thanks for the info about the listing for another audition being in Houston....is that the only place that they are holding one?

Crimson: Hey...we are almost neighbors. I was the 5th person in line for the Seattle Audition. I had read aboout the masses of people showin up for previous Seasons....and was not about to let the chance of not being auditioned go by if there were lots of people already in line (I think they guaranteed interviews with the first 750-800 people in line....and Seattle had a very low turn out of around 280 people). I drove down the night before and slept ....or tried to at least in my car in a nearby parking lost. The opportunity was worth being up for more than 24 hrs hands down!

Good Luck to those of you that are heading to the audition! I will be thinking about you. In general here are a few things to expect....and some good advice....

1) take something to read, or bring music , or a best friend...with you...the wait in line can seem like forever. In Seattle we lined up outside....so I am assuming that is a normal procedure.

2) bring something to snack on as well as things to drink.....you really don't know how long you may be in line (We got in line around 7:00am or so...but they didn't start interviews until much later)

3) bring a lawn chair to sit in (you will be a lot more comfortable)

4) The interviews for open auditions were done as small group interviews and only lasted for about 10-15 mins. total. They had everyone answer the same questions. Remember this is the time to make your BIG impression.

5) If they come back and ask you more personal questions.....that usually means that you have stood out from some of the others. (They asked me if I had any problems dating due to my size, etc.)

6) Most of all....try and relax and enjoy yourself. Take the time while in line to get to know the people around you. You most likely will be interviewed at the same time.

And for my final bit of news.....
Last night I got another call from 3Ball telling me that I am still in the running as a candidate. This time that have asked me to send another video approx. 10-15 mins. long showing a "Day in my Life"...outlining my family, friends, work, etc.

I have GREAT ideas.....and will start filming this weekend!

It's so great hearing about everyone who's gone in for these auditions and gotten callbacks! Congratulations to all of you, and thanks for posting your experiences here, they were so fun to read.

I'm heading to Norfolk, Virginia tomorrow with my folks (with my horrible teenage sense of direction, it was easy to convince them to drive their baby girl down

) and I am completely stoked for Sunday's casting call! I was wondering if anyone else was in the area and planning on coming - it'd be great to see some of you there! If not, well, send good thoughts my way.
