Wow! Amy you are awsome! I lost 4 pounds so far this week and will add in the exercise next week to kick things into high gear.

As I was going through my things and packing I came across everything from when I went in for gastric bypass consultation. We belong to Kaiser and they make you go through a lot of hoops before you can have the surgery. That was 3 years ago and I have just been too scared to go through with it. I feel more confident now that I can do it on my own. In the past I always tried to lose weight with the last fad diet or gimmick. Now I understand it really is all about calories in and energy out. I wish your daughter the best for whatever she decides.

Back to packing!

I am a surgery nurse- and I would have to strongly reccomend against any gastric bypass surgery... Unless it was an absolute LAST resort. I know it sounds like a "quick fix" but there are unbelieveable lifestyle changes that come along w/ that also. I was also signed up and going through consultation for it before I became a surgery nurse, and now, I don't think you could pay me to have it done. I also researched the banding and It has a LOT of side effects that are very difficult to live with. When it comes down to it, we ALL know how to lose weight, like you said, calories in, energy out. Eat less, move more. anyway, i just had to throw that out there. No one should give up, especially that early in life (32) that is a long time to have to live with only 1/2 of your bowel. Anyway, you ladies have an awesome nite.

Missy, that sounds like a great way to help keep track of our progress. I am going to check it out.

Amy, I have to agree. I was 34 at the time, 37 now and I just thought that I was too young to have such a limited lifestyle. It's funny but one of the biggest things that turned me away from the surgery was that I would not be able to take ibuprofen anymore. That is the only thing that can touch a headache when I get one. Maybe I was looking for an excuse but I just can't imagine having to limit what kind of medications you can take.

I am so sore and tired right now. I went to the soccer fields to help line them which usually requires pushing along this contraption that sprays the paint. Little did I know that we were starting from scratch tonight. This meant measuring the field, tying off strings to follow as we painted and of course the painting. They wanted us to do three fields and after 2 hours we finish 1 and 3/4 of the second. I am going to bed and sleeping hard tonight!

Take care,
Crimson
