Season Finale

Well this season ended just like I thought it would Matt walked away with the victory and crowned The Biggest Loser for the second season. Pete was the winner of the $100,000 prize that was given to the contestant that lost the most weight percentage that wasnt in the final 3.

Do you think Matt would trade that $250,000 in to be as healthy is he is now? I personally dont think money plays a huge factor into the minds of the contestants. They are doing this for themself and their reward is their life.

Motivation

I tyhink the money is the motivation that gets them on the ranch. They want to lose weight just like I do, but the money gets them to make the audition tape. Once they are there the true motivation is the competitions and the weigh-ins to stay on the ranch, so they can learn more. Eventually the money becomes a reality when you are one of the final four or three. The money then motivates you again, because you are so close. Ultimately they all win, because they get healthier and happier. I remember the first season when Gary saw his wife and she began asking him about his ailments (asthma, heart-burn, etc.) They were all gone. He came to the ranch with a bag full of pills, and left a healthier man. That is the true motivation.

Smile Season Finale

I think that everyone is a winner on this program. I would want to be on the show to learn how to stick to a program. The money is great if you actually get to the end and are eligible to win it. I think just the opportuniy to work with one of the trainers even for a few weeks would make a big difference in my life.

Motivation

I think the money is a definite initial motivation...but after their first weigh in...can you imagine that feeling?? Seeing what you are capable of achieving!? That would be enough motivation for me!

If I could, I would pay 250,000 to have the opportunity to stay on the ranch for an extended time, and have medical care, personal training, and all the needed equipment that the ranch offers.

I've been fat, and my features have been distorted, making me ugly, for almost 15 years. My whole Adulthood. I'm only 42, and there is still time to take back my life.

Ok, so without the ranch, its equipment, & trainers... I can still take back my life. The show is my trainer. It motivates me. You are my support group. and we are going to do this.

$..A Bonus

I really truly believe the money is just a bonus. Everyone that has been on that show that took full advantage of it (meaning not Nick) benefitted from it. Even Katherine maintained the weight loss from the ranch. They all take a risk for an opportunity of a lifetime.

The money

Hi! I am applying to be on the Biggest Loser Season 3 show and the money has NOTHING to do with it. The opportunity to have a trainer, nutritionist, and doctors to help me take off the weight is enough....I am having a tough time doing it at home but workin on it. I think the money would just be nice to have at the end but losing the weight is BETTER!

how true

I am totally with you Patty Ann. The money is just a perk. The opportunity to lose that they offer is the real prize. I think that just getting motivated to send in a tape is the first step. Where we go from there is up to us.

Money, Money, Money

I think all of the contestants would trade the money for the weight loss. Although I think having their eye on the prize helps them stay consistent and motivated once they go back home before the finale.

My dad once offered to pay be $5 a pound. I could have made a fortune but didn't have the motivation at the time. Motivation is a tricky animal. Once you catch it, you've got to hold on to it and keep it in front of you. Mine always seems to turn around and bite me in the rear-end.
