I am just going to do a quick recap of season 1 since I am writing this a tad bit late.

Started off as a show that I was just going to watch just to kill some time. I must admit I only watched it because I wanted to see overweight people getting the crap beat out of them during exercise. But during the show I felt some inspiration. Here are 16 people that have a life threatening condition that are giving 100% to stay alive. I didnt look at it as the contestants out there trying to win $250,000 or even they are there just to loose weight to look good. No, these people were fighting for there lives.

After the first weigh in and some dramatic weight lose of 20+ pounds I was absolutely stunned. My jaw dropped and I was frozen there until drool started to come out of my mouth and then I snapped back into it. Next week around I forced my fiance at the time to start watching it with me and we became hooked (as I am sure many of you reading this did).

My favorite for winning this season was Gary. I am not sure why he was really my favorite but I just like him. The winner of the season though was Ryan C. Benson.

A few little known facts about Ryan. He appeared in 15 national commercials to include IBM, Pepsi, HBO, and Sprint. He also had roles in the movies Lethal Weapon 4 and Eight Legged Freaks. After I found that out I havent went back to watch the movies to see him in it though.
But all in all this was a great first season and I am looking forward to watching them all!

I only saw the first 2-3 episodes, then missed a bunch, and re-discovered the show at the end because the network hyped it for the finale.

I felt that I forgot too much about each person, yet I was still impressed with all they had accomplished.

There was a small spark in me then, that if they could do it so could I. But then, I tried to make excuses, Like Jillian was not at home to whip me into shape. ~ Mia

missed it

For some reason, I didn't get into watching season 1. I think I watched it one time and caught the end when they were voting people off. I thought it was really catty and tacky the way they were talking about the others. That's why season 2 was such a surprise. I am now addicted to BL. Although I find the specials formula to be getting a bit stale. Caroline needs to change it up a bit. (or the writers)

Here's an idea... What kind of changes would you like to see happen with the show?

I actually really like the show the way it is. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I always look forward to it and it rejuvenates my spirit for weight loss.

changes for season 3

i have been thinking about this a lot. i have been trying to put myself in the writers shoes, then in the exec producers shoes. what have they had so far?? a lot of young, attractive, pretty heavy young woman and the guys seem to be all over the board. i know a lot of people who read this will not like it, but how about some older people who weigh less but might show us a real transformation in a 6 month period? I don't know, it's not much of an idea, but thankfully I do not have the tough job of writing the script and the parts and the equally tough job of the exec producers who have to decde what story line to go with. i like the special editions even though the outcome will hopefully be a bit predictable, the shows are interesting because they change it up a bit for each episode. who out there thinks they have what it takes to pitch a story to NBC?? Give us some ideas. Let's help these guys narrow down the line up of possible canidates on Season 3!!

As many of you already know - I am a new viewer of the show. I didn't see Season 1 or 2...I started watching with Otto's family. I really like the special edition shows - it focuses on the individuals a lot...which is the reason for watching the shows. We want to get to know these people more and the special edition provides that for us.

As for what needs to be done to the show - I'm not so sure it needs any tweaking. I think the fine is show but yet I didn't see the other episodes - the ones where they vote people off the show. How do they go about voting them off? I have applied for Season 3 and I think it would be hard for me to vote someone off - I would want the best for me and them! Guess if I get chosen then I have to do this...urgh! I just find it hard to send someone home.

In other posts we mentioned sibling shows - I think this would be great..but the best show would be married couples - couples who have been married more than 5 years. I also think that having older people on the show would be great - we all need help...we can't exclude the elders in our lives.
