Ingredients

I can't really cook, though I intend to try some of these great sounding recipies. Anyhow, there are a few ingreedients I've found helpful in my diet that I wanted to share.

One is called crispbread. It serves great as a low calorie cracker and large enough for 2/3 with toppings to be a meal. I first tried it from netrition and just reccently bought a whole case of it to split with my mom. It is crispy and doesn't taste like cardboard. Found here:
http://www.netrition.com/gg_bran_crispbread_page.html

Another great help is this sugar free calorie free peach flavored syrup (they also make respberry) which I found in my local grocery. Wal-mart probably has it. You can add it to make things taste more deserty or flavorful. You can make sodas out of it with club soda and splenda, flavor tea, anything. It's made by Luzianne.

Just wanted to share some of the yummiest things I'd tried on this diet.

I haven't been eating much bread on my diet because of the calories and carbs. I found this multigrain bread called Nature's Own Double Fiber. It has only 40 calories, 1g fat, and 5g of fiber and it is low carb!

The crispbread I actually found when I was doing Atkins -It's more of a cracker than bread, but still it's 16 cal per slice and of the Total 3g of carbs, all 3 are from fiber! It only contains: Unprocessed wheat bran, rye flour, salt. Sometimes you just need to have crackers around so you don't feel like you're missing out on snacks when others eat. I just bring my own to work and eat them while others eat bad stuff.

Elizabeth -I eat that double fiber bread too! It's great for low carb and also doesn't taste like cardboard. Even tho I'm calorie counting, I know I gain weight from carbs so I try to minimize them too. Great suggestion.

Just found this last night at Krogers -it's a fruit spread and great on low-cal bread. It's only 5-10 calories per Tbsp and low carbs, depending on the flavor. And it tastes good too! Here's one of the flavors (first one listed): http://www.sugarlessshop.com/2000/fruitspreads.htm

Hi Jules-

The crisp bread and the fruit spread look great!

I bought some Smucker's fat free sugar free strawberry preserves. It's actually really good.
