Talking For the Cooking Challenged...

Well by now, most of you know that I have no talent for cooking. The stuff I can make well is very unhealthy, so I dont make it anymore. (Chocolate chip cookies, grilled cheese and tacos) were my specialties.

Dessert?

1 Container of Yogurt
Add extra fruit or Special K cereal
Add Cinnimon and Stir
Enjoy

Prepared Desserts

1 single serving of applesauce with no added sugar

Sugar free ice cream (Healthy Choice or Edy's) these are just as addictive

1 Mixed Berry Smoothie

Weight Watcher's Ice Cream, Fruit Bars (mmmm Coconut or Lime), Skinny Cow

Sugar free toppings like hot fudge are available in your grocery store

Hope this helps. I just improvise a lot and dont buy what I cant handle.

Carrie, Got a recipe for that smoothie? It's been so long since I've made one I don't recall how. What about a recipe for a hot smoothie? It's so stinking cold here right now I'm about ready to grab a cup of hot chocolate! (and it ISN'T sugar free!)

I learned while doing Weight Watchers a recipe for a wonderful cake!! its called Diet Coke cake! You can use ANY boxed cake mix and just add a can of Diet Coke (diet pepsi or whatever diet drink you prefer) MIX well adn put in the pan and bake as directed on the box. NO need to add anything else. IT IS SO GOOD!!!! Top with FF Cool Whip and you are in heaven. The Calories and Fat you account for is whatever is on the cake box. My fav is Triple Choc cake with Coke Zero. My kids and Dh love it too~~~

That diet coke cake sounds delicious, Stephanie!!! Nice and easy as well - I'm no good in the kitchen but I think maybe even I could attempt that!!! Thanks!

I tend to stick to WeightWatchers desserts aswell, maybe some sugar-free jelly from time to time and as a very occasional treat, I love Ben and Jerry's Low fat chocolate fudge frozen yoghurt - yummy!!

I have made diabetic cakes in my bakery a few times. They aren't "diet" cakes persay, but I do know they are sugar-free and low carb. Taste wise, they aren't anything like you'd really expect. They are very moist, and tasty. I happen to think that moderation is key. If you want to treat yourself to an ice cream cone, just get the JR one.
And something to keep in mind about cakes y'all, the actual serving size in 1" by 1". It's a very small peice of cake, and several of my customers who are dieting will still order carrot cakes. I just lightly frost their cakes with cream cheese frosting made with splenda.

wow, 1 in by 1 in? Who ever determined that to be a serving size?!

I can't cook at all so my favorite desert atm is the nosugar added fudgesicle (in bottomw left of this site) Popsicles
At 40 cal/pop these are perfect -satisfy my chocolate craving, already portioned out and affordable.

I also drink tea sweetened with splenda as a dessert. Roobios is a good caffiene free tea and I really love so many teas I can often drink one instead of pigging out on desert.

Hi Weaver....

The smoothie I was referring to is the Mixed Berry (Dannon) Lit N Fit. 70 calories. Would love to take credit for it! I think it would be fun to experiment and make my own though. I bet if you went to Google, you could find some smoothie recipes.

Anyone know how to make these yogurt smoothies at home? My daughter loves them, but they are so expensive to buy! She tried the yoplait ones, and said they were great. She loves to cook, so it would be great if there was a simple recipe for these things.
