Making Egg Whites taste better
If you are like me, egg whites are blah..
So i want to start a thread for us to give each other ideas on making them more tasty.
As I've said before, 1/4 of 2% cheese helps.
I've also gotten accustomed to putting my home made salsa in them. I wait until the eggs are about 1/2 done, and add a big spoon full of fresh salsa. It gives them a bit of a kick and some good flavor.
I've also tried garlic cloves and olive oil, but the oil can be pretty caloric.
Any other ideas out there?

I haven't tried this but I have heard many people talk about adding salsa to their egg whites. Must be delicious - everyone seems to be doing it. I guess I had better get on track. lol

I've done garlic and lots of different spices and cheeses but I have never tried salsa... I think I might have to try that tomorrow morning.

I've never had egg whites. Do you make them like you fry eggs, or do you scramble them? I feel rather ignorant for asking this, but, I had always assumed that organic, or egglands best were okay to eat.

I used to always put ketchup on them until I found out how much sugar is in ketchup! AHH! It's like liquid sugar, so I stopped eating it.
Thank you for the salsa idea, I'll try that one out!

I put salsa on everything. I wouldn't know how to eat eany kind of eggs without it! Egg whites are a little different to cook. I am thinking about trying to cook it like an omelet with some peppers and cheese inside. Topped with salsa of course! I will let you know how that works out.

Eggs are a tough one for me. I love the yolks and can't stand the white part.

I made an egg white omelot Sunday morning that was great. I sauted onions and red, yellow and green peppers with a spray of Pam, and then put them to the side. Then I dumped in twice that amount of egg whites that I usually use, so that it would make so that the omelot would be thicker and wouldn't break. I then added fat free cheese and the veggies I sauted. Once the omelot was done, I cut it in have and gave half to my son. On my half I poured some salsa on top, it was great!

That does sound pretty good! I would have leave the onions out though.
How does the fat free cheese taste? Does it melt pretty well?
