Spaghetti Squash

It looks like pasta, but it's not...

Ingredients:

1 whole spaghetti squash
1 lb Turkey burger
3-4 cups of lowfat spaghetti sauce
1/2 garlic glove (optional)
Low fat cheese of your choice or parmeasean sprinkles

Cut the squash in half, and broil it in a pay with about 2 cups of water for about 30 minutes, or until it's done. You'll know the squash is done when you can peal it away from the rhind with a fork, it will look like angel hair pasta when it come out..

While the squash cooks, cook up the ground turkey burger and add sauce when it's cooked thru (if you like garlic, add hte chopped up fresh garlic to the sauce) Bring the sauce to the desired temerature and let it simmer until you are ready to serve.

Server it just like spaghetti and sauce, and sprinkle the cheese on top as you like your pasta.

It doesn't taste like spaghetti, but it's a good substitue.

My mom, too. She tells us that we ate the heck out of it - not knowing the difference.

Searched around the produce section and found it. So I bought one for us to try this week.

Krogers didn't have one -going to try Wal-mart. I love squash unfortunately always regular squash covered in cheese or acorn squash slathered with butter and brown sugar. I've been hesitant to eat squash since dieting (ie without the "bad stuff" topping it) but this recipie looks divine!

Ok we tried the speghetti squash... OMG we couldn't believe how good it is. We just use a little pureed tomato with some spices in it and a little reduced fat parmesan cheese. It will definately make our weekly menu!!

We tried the Spaghetti Squash, too. My daughters and husband absolutely LOVED it...my son wouldn't even taste it. He is a picky eater anyway so it didn't really bother me. I liked it, too...next time I just have to be sure to drain it b/c it was too runny. We will definitely be making this again! Thanks!
