Lasagne (sort of) without pasta
Sound wierd, and you have to love veggies, but this is a great low cal lasagne.
Ingredients:
Zucinni
yellow squash
Low Cal spaghetti sauce (3-4 cups)
1 lb of Low Fat Turkey burger or sausages pre-cooked
2% Mozzerella (or low fat ricotta) cheese
Your favorite Spices (we use fresh garlic and Basil)
Cook the turkey or sausage, and add the sauce, garlic and basil.
We cut up the squash and zucinni into about 1/8 slices and line the bottom of the pan with them.
Add a layer of the sauce with turkey burger or sausage, and spread the cheese over the layer (go easy on the cheese to keep the calories down)
Layer 2 or 3 times depending on how much you want to make. and top with cheese, garlic and basil leaves if you are trying to impress someone.
It takes a bit to get used ot having the veggies instead of the pasta, but if you like these veggies, it's quite tasty.
It will be messy on the plate and won't hold together, but you are cutting so many calories out of the meal by forgoing the pasta, it's worth it.
