Season 3 will be biggest 'Loser' yet

The Biggest Loser is beefing up.

Loser will feature 50 contestants when the NBC reality show's third season premieres Sept. 20 (8 p.m. ET/PT). After a fitness boot camp, 36 contestants will leave The Biggest Loser Ranch to compete at home, leaving 14 to play the game as usual.

Later, one man and one woman from the 36 state contestants who lose the largest percentage of weight will rejoin the game at the ranch, vying to win $250,000.

Host Caroline Rhea enjoyed the contestants. "There were many times when we had to stop filming because we were laughing so hard."

Okay thanks for this post because I knew the new format had 50 contestants from 50 states but I wasn't sure how they were going to structure it. Makes sense now.

Wow this sounds really interesting. It will be a good way for them to show that you can lose weight on your own and don't just need to be on a secluded ranch. Wonder how they chose the 14 to stay at the ranch. The highest percentage lost at the 1st weigh in?
