Wink *** Missy in August ***

A whole new month brings a whole new challenge. The challenge this month is to say goodbye forever to the 200s. I never want to make it back to this place again. It's been a long hard road so far, with many bumps along the path...but I am making it, one step at a time. I remember when I was at my highest weight of 261 pounds that I never thought I would see the day of accomplishing this much weight loss. But here I am..almost 60 pounds lighter in only 7 months time. Just goes to show you...dreams can come true!

It's a scorcher here in London, ON, Canada today. It is 33 degress celcius today (91.4 farenheit for those of you in the states). But, with the humidity, they have calculated it on the weather page to feel like 46 degress celcius (114.8 in farenheit). There is barely any air to breathe!! It is supposed to cool down a bit later in the week and God do I hope so!

But, I did drag my butt to the gym this morning to sweat it out. I did the fat burn room and then a full hour of cardio on the elliptical crosstrainer. I ended up burning a total of 945 calories so far today. I am not sure I will make it out for my walk later or not, it's so hot out.

Carrie, I will ask my trainer your question about cardio tomorrow, he wasn't in today because him and his fiance went to Niagara Falls to celebrate their anniversary today.

Well, I am off to hit the showers because I am in desperate need of one.

Oh..and I just wanted to document here my starting weight for August 1, 2006 as being 202.4 pounds...just to see how much I lose during the month

Cool

hehe thanks everyone!

This heat is really making me wish we had an air conditioner in our bedroom, I wake up sweating, it's the most disgusting feeling. We have an air conditioner in our kitchen window but it does nothing for the bedrooms. It's only 2 degrees lower today than yesterday, but it doesn't feel like it. I looked ahead on the weather website and it's supposed to be 10 degrees cooler tomorrow with chance of rain, so we'll see if it makes any difference.

Our gas prices are ridiculous here too. Yesterday it was $1.15 per LITRE..that's is freaking nuts!

Went to the gym today and was sweating buckets before I even started my workout, haha. I spent 1/2 an hour busting my butt off with my lovely trainer...he had no compassion because of the heat *LOL* he made me do it just as intense as always..GRR! I spent a full hour on the elliptical crosstrainer...so in total I ended up burning about 1065 calories today. There is no way I am going out for my walk later, it's too hot and I'm sure all the sweating I am doing because of the heat is helping my weight loss anyways..haha!

Carrie - as far as the cardio question goes, my trainer said it doesn't really matter what you do for your cardio as long as you are doing it. Any type of cardio will burn fat if you have your heart rate in the target zone for at least 30 min he said. It's the same thing for everything, you can't spot train. Usually the first place you gain fat, will be the last place you lose it..so just keep on pumping out your cardio and you'll get rid of it sooner or later. Although, I am sure it helps if you pick a cardio machine that aids you in burning a lot of calories...I always find the stationary bike to burn crap calories, that's why I choose the elliptical because I burn way more on it...but it's all preference.

Thanks Missy...My stomach needs all the help it can get. I am losing a few inches here and there; but I want to help it along some.

Glad to hear Trainer Hottiepants is back with his fiancee. I hope it works out for them.

What are you paying total bill at the pump then? Giant Eagle is now doubling to 20 cents a gallon with the advantage card and every $50 spent. This is BS....I have already gone to fill up twice this week because I was going to see Eric and I was running the A/C. Boy that will suck a tank dry.

I usually can only afford to put about $30 in every 2 weeks, and that ends up to being only about 25-28 Litres of gas

We don't tend to drive big gas guzzlers like you guys over there (not that I have a problem with that) so we have more fuel efficient cars over here. That said I run the aircon all the time right now which makes a big difference to fuel consumption. Our Petrol is 50c a litre which works out to about $1.50 US a litre. I use about 10 litres a week

I don't feel the greatest today, not sure if that heat wave we had got to me or what but I felt lightheaded for most of the day. Good news is that the temperature cooled down and there is a cool breeze now. We had a huge storm here last night though. Right around the time I had to pick up my boyfriend from work, it just poured..the whole parking lot was flooded and the power went off twice while I was waiting for him to come out. Thunder and lightening and the whole sha-bang. It's been raining for most of the day today too, so my walk is out.

I did the fat burn room today and then an hour on the elliptical. I ended up burning a total of 925 calories today.

Had a great workout this morning with my trainer, he said I did really well and that he is going to be upping some of my weights again..UGH! I should seriously post my whole workout on here because I feel like no normal person can lift what I am lifting..I even said that to him...that it's not normal haha. I will have to get my workout card on Monday and then I will post it up here.

I did an hour of cardio on the elliptical today too, burned a total of 1135 calories today. I am very proud of that.

My trainer also said he couldn't believe how much weight I have lost...he said almost 60 pounds, that's like a whole little person you've lost! It's true! I only have 4 scheduled sessions left with him..my last one is on Monday the 14th....so after that he is giving me his cell number so I can call him when I'm free to see if he has some time to train me. He's giving me sessions for cheaper..he said that he would just take his trainers shirt off and "pretend" like he's working out with me instead of training me, so he doesn't get in trouble with the bosses where he works, because he isn't supposed to be doing private sessions.

I might be going here this weekend: http://www.londonballoonfestival.com/
They have some concerts there under the concert series section, so I might go one of the nights. Should be fun.

Ugh, it's that time of the week again, off to go do some grocery shopping. I actually get to spend some time with my bf on the weekends too, so hopefully we can find something fun to do. We want to go check out some of the bands at the Balloon Festival and today is our cheat day too!! My bf only has one more week left of his job training and then he's all on his own, but I'm sure he'll do fine, he's done this type of work before.

Our 5 year anniversary is coming up in 2 months too, it's hard to believe we have been together that long..and we are not even married yet! haha, we don't get married because we can't afford a wedding right now. We hope to get engaged sometime early next year if we can.

Ahh well, just a quick update. Have a good weekend everyone!
