My hubby works about 14 hours a day starting at 5 am. I try and get things going and into the crock pot before I leave for work. With the hours we both work its easier for me to get everything going then its ready when we both get home. I know that this is a lifestyle change but, I do have to take into consideration his feelings too. Ive gotten it so we arent ordering out all the time, and the meals have to be planned out in advance because we have 1 vehicle and because I can walk to work he drives. Its been complicated.

Today wasnt so bad, got in a long walk before the rain, went to work, it was slow. I have another job interview in the morning, my hamburger stand is going to be closing probably by the end of sept.

I havent gotten to see the step daughter in about a month and wont be getting her again until the middle of sept. We changed weekends to start getting her on hubbys payday. That will make things a bit easier, and shes got things planned for the labor day holiday.

No more freaky co workers she was fired, then she said it was my fault. not sure how I made her not show up for work, but apparantly I did.

otherwise all seems well and getting back into good habits

Hi everyone

its only been 4 days since I last weighed myself but I want to stay on the day that I was weighing in on. Not much for going down, 277.6 only .6 lbs but thats ok, for some reason lately Ive been staying up way to late and sleeping in way too late. Not getting everything done in a day that I should be. I am proud of myself though, last night I made lasagna, (hubby LOVES it) and I didnt stuff myself, I had a little serving and that was good for me, portion control is something I need to learn. I used to not eat all day long and then gorge myself to feeling sick with the supper meal. Then not being able to move, and then laying on the couch until bed.

Good news on the work front, I had my interview yesterday, I think it went well, he went through all the rules with me and said he would look everything over and give me a call by the end of the week. At the bar we have had a stand in manager until someone takes the job, the girl thats doing it has been known to steal money and get drunk behind the bar, they were trying to get rid of her before my old manager quit, then because this girl has been there longer then me, she got the stand in job, she also happens to be in jail for her 3rd drunk driving. There is a man that is an AWESOME person, who Is a member of my Legion and ran a Camp American Legion and did a great job, he and his wife are friends of my husband and his parents, I just found out that he is going to take the job. I think he will bring in some great changes and get things rolling to get more customers in the bar and keep our Legion from having to close down.

Im a little nervous for this up coming weekend. We are going away for the weekend camping. Going Thursday through Monday. I know there is going to be drinking and not so healthy eating, but I can go swimming and walking, the people we are going with arent the most sensitive people, wouldnt really care that Im trying to loose weight, but we always have fun, we have a dart compitition every time we are up there and hubby and I are on a dart league so we try to kick butt everytime lol. We also have a friend that is an Elvis impersonator and he is playing at out camground Sat night so it should be fun.

If you need to drink, try buying your alcohol in advance and taking it with you. You can get stuff that has very low carbs in it. Most wine only has 1-2g of carbs....and gin/rum/vodka/whisky has no carbs at all. If you are drinking beer...stick to the "light" beers because they have half the carbs as a regular one.

Try not to overindulge because alcohol tends to hold a lot of calories. I wouldn't drink more than 3-4 if need be, because that's probably close to 300-400 cals right there. If you are using liquor, be careful what you are mixing it with...because most juices and pop contains tons of sugar which are bad it you drink in excess.

When I drink alcohol, it's pretty much the only time I use something like Crystal Light...I put a packet into a pitcher of water and add my shot of vodka or whatever to it...

Good luck and have fun camping!

Well, it's been a long time since I've done more than just have a drink or two, but I remember getting the munchies , when we would drink more than we probably should have. Being a bit under the influence would make it really tough to resist chips, cookies, candy, stuff like that.
But it sounds like you're going to have a great time! Enjoy -- wish I could join you!!!

The only problem with me drinking is I have only ever drank 1 kind of beer, nothing else tastes as good or I get a headache trying something else, Drinking mixers I either get stupid or weepy so I try to stay away. It would be great if I could say I can just drink 1 or 2 but I know better, I start having a good time and then I dont want to come down from the buzz. So Ill either have to not drink at all or if I start drinking Im not going to be able to stop. I come from a long line of alcoholics which is why I dont drink very often and it scares me that I have a good time when drinking. And that once I start I dont want to stop.

Brighter side, I just got a phone call from the place I had my interview yesterday I got the job. Its only part time but its going to fill in the hours during the week once the stand closes down and I can stay working at the bar. AND its only 3 monutes from home but I have to drive, its in the next city over. Hours fit with hubby I can take him to work and Ill be done so I can go and pick him up ( we only have 1 vehicle).I start next Wednesday. They wanted me to start on Friday but I already have to leave camping to come back and work at the stand Friday. He told me no problem. that it was short notice anyway.

lots in common

Someone posted me and told me to check out your journal. We have something in common. Hubby sabatours (not sure if I spelled that right). I wanted a little chocolate the other day and asked him to pick me up something when he went to the gas station. He brought me home 5 candy bars! I don't let him go shopping because he brings home his girlfriend "Little Debbie." I really think that he is afraid that if I lose weight, I'll leave him for greener pastures.
