Thanks Missy. I know I will love it. When I had a trainer in the past I really liked it. She challenged me. I'm not really good at challenging myself. So I called the gym and talked to the manager, he was really nice, and he said I could sign up for the demo on the day of the event. He did say he didn't think they would bring aqua aerobics back because it wasn't that popular. I think a lot of people think of it as an "old lady" thing. What needs to happen is some celebrity needs to say that they love it and it works wonders and it will become popular. I know they did some aqua aerobics on the Biggest Loser and Celebrity Fit Club. That's okay I can do my own routine in a pool. It's just more fun when it's part of a class and you don't have to think about what to do you just follow the instructor. The manager said that the personal training group could be as small as two and as big as 5 people. I think that's good. The other people would be motivators in addition to the trainer.

I thought about taking an aqua aerobics class once, but it was full of old ladies. You're right -- it's too bad it's perceived that way. Well, I guess not just perceived that way -- it's the way it is. It wasn't offered as 'aqua aerobics for Seniors', but that's what it was.
I have always heard it's a tough workout, but not tough on your joints. That water resistance really pays off. I don't care how old you are either - we all should want our joints to stay healthy.
Your group training sounds like a great idea. You'll get the guidance you need, and get some workout buddies too!

I did aquarobics a while back with my wife and I was the only guy in the cl**** which was nice . It was'nt old ladies but there were one or two. We stopped when she got pregnant. I loved it.
Maybe ask around and see if anyone else would be interested in a class. They may not have been popular before if they were held at the wrong time of day. If it was full of old ladies my guess is they were at a time while everyone else was working.

I went swimming today and it was better than last time. It is still tough. I have a long way to go. But I am truly excited because I can feel that every muscle in my body is working. The urban rebounder is here. Well, its at the condo office but I should be able to pick it up tomorrow. I will most likely try it for the first time on Saturday. Food...one day at a time. I did really well today. I went shopping that always helps. Then I'm not tempted to buy fast food when I have food that I like at home and I am able to do my snacks also. My weight is down but not quite to the weight in my signature. It won't be long. Maybe my next weigh in is Aug 3rd. I don't remember. Hopefully by then I will feel okay to weigh in and report my weight.

Okay the Urban Rebounder is in my posession. Really easy to put together. Minimal to no assembly. I will keep it open because I am not killing myself to try to fold that thing again. The stabilization bar seems wobbly but they must hear that all of the time because in the manual they clarify that it is for stabilizing not to hold your entire body weight. The "jumping mat" is sturdy as can be. It can definitely hold a lot of weight. I got two dvd's and the carrying bag with it also. One dvd has 5 workouts on it and the other 3. I actually plan to give it a try on Saturday. Before that I plan to watch the workouts first. Tomorrow is the small group personal training promo at Bally's. I am looking forward to that.

Okay I went to Bally's and basically I signed up for 5 small group sessions for $119. The trainer really tried to talk me into 1:1 but I said no. I know my budget and that is just too much for me. It would get to the point where I could not afford it anymore. With the group sessions I will be able to afford that forever unless they get really ridiculous with the prices. If I really like it I will buy a bigger package such as 10, 14, or 18 sessions. I start on Monday at 5:30pm. I will most likely add an additional session on Thursday and make my regular schedule Mon & Thurs but wanted to get through the first workout. I am really looking forward to it. I bought brand new cross trainers yesterday so I am good to go.
TOM is here so I am having some difficulty with food but I think I should be okay to weigh in on 8/3. I may just get back to the 211.5 but it would be nice if I lost something in addition even if it is just 1/2 pound.
Okay today is the day to try the Urban Rebounder. I looked at the firstimers workout. I like to watch workouts before I do them. It looks okay but the inventor, JB Berns, is annoying. Oh well, the things we tolerate in the name of health.
I think I will add my bmi to my signature. I would like to see that change over time.
Oh yeah, my job is doing this wellness thing called "Local Motion". It sounds like fun. You get a team of 5-7 people together and the goal is to lose weight and become healthier. We can win team prizes and individual prizes. There are weekly incentives also. The prizes are great too (trips to Vegas, Cancun, etc). Kind of like the biggest loser. They do all your measurements and things like that. I hope they don't let the world know your weight...well I really don't care about that too much anymore. So I will go to an informational meeting on Thursday.

Okay so I tried the Urban Rebounder and lasted all of 5 minutes. That's a shame too seeing as the entire workout is only 15 minutes. I will try it again tomorrow and hope to get through 10 minutes. I can understand why they say it only takes 15 minutes 3x/wk to see results. I was dripping sweat in 5 minutes. The bouncing is something I will have to get used to. I think I will do it in socks only to assist with me bouncing and not jumping. It will be great once I get the hang of it.
So I did the BMI calculator and for me to be in the normal weight category the most I can weigh is 123. So my ultimate goal will be 120.

I got through the workout today. My legs were on fire. Depending on how I felt about the particular exercise I used or didn't use the stabilizing bar. It's a really easy to follow routine. I plan to do it again on Saturday if I survive my 2nd personal training session which I want to schedule for Thursday. Exercising in a different way definitely lets you know that variety is important. Maybe it is a good thing that I get bored quick so I can try a lot of different things and that way I have many options.
