I just came home from my tops meeting tonite and I lost a 1lb. I am very happy, because I have struggled lately.
Tonite, we discussed what is the most important thing in our life??
Health was at the top of the list. When you think about it without good health you have nothing. This week we are going to challenge ourselves and our minds to think in a new and different way. BE AWARE of our thoughts and feelings. Any suggestions?

Congrats on the pound lost! Keep it up.
Excellent topic of conversation. Health is an excellent answer to that question. In the spirit of this forum, I would like to add that something else that is very important is FRIENDS; (aka: family). In a world of so many people; it is nice to know that there is a circle of people that you belong to and can call your own.

Great job! You're so right about health being the most important thing. What good is money, or any 'stuff', if you're not healthy and can't enjoy it?
People ( friends and family) are also very important, but you want to be as healthy as you can be for them too.

Today is July 1st, and I have a good start to July. Despite all the parties and my birthday I am determined to lose weight this week. I have walked outside two mornings in a row, before it gets too hot out. I plan on going swimming this afternoon. So far this weekend I have managed fairly well, Friday night I had dinner at my parents house, grilled salmon, fresh steamed beans and of course I couldn't pass up the strawberry shortcake. I told myself it was okay to eat, but I promised myself I would get up the next morning ang go for a walk and I did! Saturday night my husband and I had friends over for dinner, again I had lowfat hotdogs and everyone else had brats on the grill. I did have cake for dessert and walked again the next morning. I guess the key for me is to to talk to myself and try to plan ahead. On the flipside, do not get upset with myself if I things do not go as I planned. On the fourth, we are having a celebration at my parents house for my birthday lots of food and cake. My plan is to bring an pasta salad with ff italian dressing(nobdy will know its ff)and I have already talked to my mom, we are also going to have fresh fruit and vegetables. So, I am planning to have a piece of cake and ice cream on my birthday. Right now it is going great, and I am going to try to keep the momentum up, because one wrong turn can spell disaster. Self talk for me is the key to changing habits and the way I think about myself.
I always need to remember---one day at a time, there is always a new day and a new beginning. I am making my health a top priority. I have a difficult time tooting my own horn, thanks for giving me the opportunity to safely do it here, eventually, watch out world here I come!
Have a great fourth of July

Sounds like you are still doing a great job with your foods. The shortcake sounds yummy!
