haha I think that's so awesome you got to sit next to Morgan Freeman. I don't think I would have been able to contain myself, he's such a good actor. I love movies with him in it. You are so lucky!!

Muppet -nothing wrong with state fairs! But I know what you mean... It's not like there's a lot of health food choices at them. The fried Snickers dessert wasn't actually on the menu at the restaurant, just something yummy my guy arranged because he knew I'd like it. It's popular with the cooks for sure! Actually the shrimp appetizer wasn't on the menu either, but he likes being creative and making things specially for me on the rare occasion I get to come eat out there. Ps. Also pets can have their first litters at 6 months, but they can be neutered/spayed nearly anytime before that. i thought the same thing about how old the had to be but the vet said no, that was just generally when they did it. So I guess it's more flexible in timing than we though.

Carrie -there were definately moments when my friend and I just stopped our conversation and stared, distracted by Morgan. That's cool you met Drew Carry but also funny you didn't recognize him. I always figured It's be hard to recognize stars in normal clothing unless they were really your favorite or something.

Love the random chatting, you guys are great, but got to get to the dirty work too. (Thank you all for your comments. It's amazing how this site has kept me going and all the people here I think about but have never met.) I went home Friday and put on my exercise gear and honestly just wore it around procrastinating for quite a while. But, in the end I turned on the BL DVD and got some exercise. I really really love the cool-down stretching with them, and not just because it means the workout is over. The puppies got really excited when I did the jumping jacks and the they chased me for a while, but overall I was able to do my workout and keep an eye on them too. I also took a few pictures of myself with my digital and swore the next time my belly would get like that, there'd be a baby inside it. (And that had better be a while too!)

The rest of the weekend though I didn't excercise with a routine but I was very active. I had a lot of cleaning, laundry, and sweeping on Saturday and Sunday I babysat for my boss's 3-yr-old daughter in a 2 story house and we went up and down and up and down to fetch toys and play for several hours. I got my workout there for sure. Today we're calling the landlord though because the AC isn't working and it's 85-90 inside during the day. Too hot for exercise or puppies or anything but laying around feeling icky.

Oh, and on Father's day the puppies gave V a card with their pawprints in it. (That was an ordeal, puppies and paint!) He loved it and put it on display above the TV.

Tonight is our anniversary and we're both taking off early to celebrate togther and spend some time together. We'll probably head to dinner, but no more snickers bars for me. I think I'll just enjoy my company tonight. 2 years ago he asked me to be his girlfriend when he was still in Australia and I was here, he was planning his trip to come over and we were talking on the phone. And today, we're engaged, have 2 puppies, and can't imagine life without each other. Sorry, I know not everyone wants to read about relationships, but he and I have been through some crappy times so I'm excited we can enjoy how far we've come and that we're still together and stronger after all the rollercoasters.

Thank you all for keeping me on track. You guys are the best.

Wow Jules-- puppies and paint sounds like more of a challenge that preschoolers and paint ( we do several projects through out the year that require handprints -- There are some really cute ones with foot prints too, but I don't think I'm up for that! ) What a cute idea for a card!
Thanks for the info on the animals too. I had no idea they could have their first litter after 6 months! Yikes! Any hints on how to get this kitten to stop biting?? She's a vicious little thing. ( they namer her Lucy, short for Lucifer )
You really do get a good workout cleaning house, doing laundry, etc. especially when there are stairs involved. We have ALOT! I hang a lot of my clothes outside too, so that's even more work, lugging baskets of wet clothes outside. I find it funny though, that so many people wouldn't do that, because it's too hard, but will go to a gym and do a workout. Kind of like the people who complain, because they can't get a close enough parking place to the gym!
I love hearing about your relationship, and glad things are going so well. Any wedding date set yet? Approximately?
Congratulations on your anniversary!
Carol

Hi Jules. Forgive me if this sounds overly critical. I'm sure your BF had the very best of intentions making a special dessert for you but to me it just sounds like unintentional sabotage. I would never dream of cooking up such stuff for my wife knowing she is trying to loose weight. May I suggest that as he is a chef you challenge him to come up with a tasty and healthy dessert if he is going to cook off menu for you.

I'm not suggesting anything was done other than with the best of intentions and love / care for you. And I also note you are not eating there everyday so as a one off I guess its ok

Long work day, very sleepy now. Just a quick update.
Approximate wedding date: June 2007 (after I graduate). Also hope that advice helps with the kitten.
Misfit -Part of me was thinking the same thing you mentioned. I think he's trying to find a balance between encouraging me in my weight loss goals and letting me know he loves me and thinks I'm great the way I am. You know? But it was just a rare occasion.

We went out for dinner for our anniversary to a sushi place with edamame and vegetable appetizers, sushi rolls and shrimp for dinner, and hot tea. Pretty good place for a dieter and will still fill you up. Had a great evening, he gave me some books as a present and I bought him dice and a donation to the humane society.

More tomorrow, sorry it's just been a really quiet and busy day and I'm hungry and sleepy. Now time to go home, change, and clean out all the puppy poo accumulating in the backyard. (Ew! but someone's got to do it and it's my turn.)

Have fun on Poop Patrol! I have a smile guy for that; but I dont want to gross everyone out!

Glad to hear that you have a tenative wedding time set. That is so exciting!

Sushi? That is one of the few things I will never ever eat. Not even if it were chocolate coated. I just dont do fish. Unless it is tuna with fat free Miracle Whip.

Cute idea with the puppy paw painting. I hope the paint didnt get further than a few furry paws and the card!

I just checked the tv listings for next week. "Hell's Kitchen" is going to start at 8pm and show the episode you missed this week. After that, at 9pm they will have the new one. I will have to send you a reminder email!! That is the only tv I am allowing myself at the moment. (Like sitting in front of the pc is a workout!!)

Have a good night! Hope to hear from you soon.

Hmmm, Sushi (Drools)

btw if you have grass in your backyard its a good idea to follow the puppies out when they do their business and clean up asap, pouring a pint or so of water over the area used, this helps prevent yellow patches. Doggie doo (and pee) destroys grass.

How are the pooches doing? What are their names again?

Sorry Jules, I dont think I will be going to Subway anymore. I am going to be a Quiznos girl forever! When I get to goal, I want one of their women's shirts! Maybe change my AOL screen name too!

How are you doing with your weight loss? I bet you are doing great! You gotta let me know how the 140's feel. I am dying to get there!

Let us know what's up if you have any time between work and chasing two puppies around. Can I borrow them? I need to start running again...and soon! Are you going to enroll them in puppy classes?

~Carrie

Hi,
Sorry I've been gone so much lately. My boss left town and left me in charge, and every 5 minutes someone has a question for me. I still haven't managed organized exercise but the puppies (Ender and Roland) are helping more and more. Last week they escaped when I forgot to refasten the gate and I had a good chase, and I'm working with the fuzzy one (Ender) a lot on the leash but he loves to run so that's a good workout for me and luckily he's more of a sprinter atm. Also did a big house cleaning this weekend, lots of scrubbing and vaccuming and dusting to have friends over and just feel better about the house. And when we had friends over for dinner last Sunday, we fixed fruit for dessert instead of sugary stuff; I was happy with that.

We're busy planning what to do with 5 days off work this weekend/next week. I think we're going camping some and taking the puppies, and another day V is dying to visit a 6-flags. Both those will be lots of exercise too I predict. Just gotta watch my food while travelling, so easy to eat poorly.

I'll be around this week but I'm still in charge (and ready for the boss to come take his workload back thanks) Tonight I'm going to go home and play with the puppies in the new kiddy pool we got yesterday. It'll be nice relief from the heat and probably pretty funny to watch them encounter water. Keep up the great work everyone and thanks for keeping up with me Carrie. Ps. I remembere Hell's kitchen last night finally.
