Jules...I always grind my teeth. I don't only do it while I sleep - I do it when I concentrate on something which is a lot. I do it while driving, too...by the time I get somewhere I have a headache. Maybe I should talk to him about this. Thanks!

Talking Thursday; June 8th

Well...I have already talked about my doctor's appointment so I won't go into that. I will talk about my afternoon and evening. After my doc appointment this morning I went over to my sister's house to meet up with my other sister b/c she was taking us out to lunch. We went to lunch at 11:30 - we went to Applebee's. I was not impressed with lunch at all...it was the Chicken Confetti with Steamed Broccoli (Weight Watchers- 7 pts...370 calories). I chose this b/c the calories were low and it sounded good.....well, I was wrong - it was gross...the broccoli was good though. It was the first time I had steamed broccoli - yummy! I also had two glasses of water. I did a really good job - I wanted a cheeseburger and fries so bad but chose not to do that due to the fact of me working hard this month to lose more. After lunch I came home and Grant's therapist visited us...she gave us Royal's tickets for the game on Sunday. We are excited to go! The Royal's are not good but the environment is so much fun! We also talked about us getting a family pass to the local swimming pool...we are excited about that, too. Family time is so precious to me and I think that Dan really enjoys it, too.

Sam had her 1st real win tonight - WAY TO GO SAM-O! She did a good job - I just wish these girls would give her a good pitch so she can show everyone what she is made of...her team knows how well she can hit but she can't get a good enough pitch to show it in her games...it's all good though. They were so excited to win - it was a team that beat them once and the other team was cruel to our girls after the game...bad sportsmanship! Urgh!

After the game we came home and I made chicken (wrapped in aluminum foil with Italian dressing on it) YUMMY! It was so good...I also had mixed vegetables and pork & beans with it...with a glass of 2% milk. I did really good today on eating - I had a yogurt and peanut butter sandwich for my snacks today. My calorie intake was definitely lower than what it has been the last couple of weeks.

I can't remember if I had already posted this but my workout was good today. A lot of walking - I did a 17 minute session (in home) this morning before taking the kids to school...I did another 17 minute session (in home) this afternoon when I became bored. I was still bored so I put in my 3 mile dvd of Leslie Sansone - 45 minutes...I did this twice. My total workout today was 2 hrs and 2 minutes. I am happy with myself! I'm hoping to get this much done tomorrow but have a lot of running to do so I am going to strive for one hour. If I can at least get that one hour in I'll be happy.

Well...It is 9:30pm and I am going to bed. I am so tired and I have been having trouble waking in the morning. I'm outta here!

KEEP ON KEEPING ON! LATE!

Wow-- that's a lot of working out in one day! Way to go Patty!
I wish I had as much sense as you, when eating out. But I'm sorry the food was gross. IT looks so good on tv!
Keep up the good work. I love to see parents who really and truly cherish the time they spend with their children. I teach preschool, and while I know all the parent's love their kids, there really are a lot who are just glad to get them out of their hair, any chance they can. Well, I guess I can be that way too ( can't we all???) but I"m not sure they all realize how quickly they grow up. You don't get to redo this parent thing. So, you are doing the right thing by making family time a priority. You're kids will always remember it.
Have a restful evening
Carol

Question Answering some ?s

Hello! I guess I haven't been here for a couple of days....sorry. To answer a few questions - the kids are doing so-so...they have their good days and bad days. Grant is having some issues with stealing (around home) - his therapist and I talked today and we are having an officer come to the house to talk with him about the consequences of stealing. I am hoping to get ahold of an officer tomorrow and have him come by this week. He is doing really good in summer school - he was struggling in school towards the end of the year but is doing great - he really likes his teachers. Sam is doing great in softball but poorly in her attitude at home. She is going through early puberty - only 10 years old...urgh! I don't even want to think what it is going to be like when she hits 13....oh my gosh! Ken is completely potty trained - took no time...she still wears a diaper at bedtime b/c she falls asleep with her cuppy...she always has to have her water before bed...that is my fault b/c I need to cut that down. She has quite the potty mouth, too...her favorite phase is "stupid idiot a**hole"...it's awful! There are times that I have to walk away b/c I start to laugh - she just can't see that I think it is cute at times.

School is out for now - I am off for a month b/c I have a trip in July to California and it falls in the last week of my class. My human nutrition class ended last week and I received my grade - 98% - WOOOOOOHOOOOOO! I really enjoyed that class.

My sister is doing okay...can't say that she is much better. She still can't speak - her voice box was damaged b/c the ventilator. She was one of the sister's that I went to lunch with last week and when we left the restaurant she became really dizzy. I asked her if she had checked her blood and she said "I gave my shot before we left." She didn't check her blood before the shot I don't think...she should have checked it before eating and after eating. I am not diabetic but she just isn't doing what she needs to do in order to stay healthy. The most upsetting thing is that she lives in a filthy house...it is bad. Nobody can get them to understand how dangerous it is to live that way - especially her. I just pray that God takes good care of her.

Well...I hope I answered all ?s. I'm outta here for now. Sam has a ballgame and we have to get ready. I will try to post again tonight - if not I will get in tomorrow morning to post about my weekend and day.

Thanks for asking about my sister Carrie!

I hope that the officer will be able to help get through to your son. I sympathize with you and your frustrations with him, it must be difficult. It sounds like you are doing all the right things to try to educate him on his actions though, it's better than just giving up on him.

I am also hoping things get better in your sister's situation. It's definately not good to live in a dirty house. When I went through a bout of depression awhile back, I let things get way out of hand and one of my cat's got sick from all the dirt and bacteria in the apartment. I hope I never get to that point ever again in my life.

Congrats on getting 98% on your nutrition class. That is so awesome. I'd love to take classes on this..I'll have to look and see if they offer anything like that in my area.

98% wow! Looks like I might have to get help from you when I go back to school. Enjoy your break and trip. Anymore classes coming up? Would love to know what else you are taking.
I am sorry to hear that your sister is still under the weather and cannot speak. I hope her situation improves soon. She is lucky to have a sister that cares about her as much as you do.
So Grant is testing you eh? I hope the visit will get him on the right track. Better now than for real later on...
I wouldnt be able to keep a straight face around Ken either. Where did she get that? My mom said when I came home from preschool I had a sudden mouth on me too. I wonder what they are teaching them these days....
Have fun at the game!
You inspire us all Captain SPM!!
