Maltese Phil in June

Hi All

A new month and so a new thread. I did my workout today. Aircon was working today (phew). Some of you may have heard of one of the trainers at my gym. Don Ross who played basketball in the USA for some time. Sorry I don't know the team but I'll be sure to ask next time I see him.

Big day tomorrow. I have my weigh in and re assesment in the afternoon. In the morning I have the 1st of 6 parent craft classes where I'll learn how to change a nappy, feed baby and all the other parenty stuff.

Best of luck to you all for June and remember to ask yourself each day "what did I do to make myself proud". We CAN do it

Hey Phil, how did the weigh -in and re-assessment go? Have the 'man boobs' officially become 'pecs' yet? If not quite yet, I'm sure it will be soon!
Good luck on the parenting classes. I bet you're getting excited for the arrival of your 'bundle of joy'!!!

Hi all

Parent craft was mainly common sense stuff about alcohol, smoking, excersise etc etc but I did learn a few things. Mainly not to worry about certain things that may happen during the pregnancy and when to get to the hospital ASAP.

My new program is almost completely different. Six different work outs, one for each day I go to the gym. Today was day 1 weights for instance and tomorrow is day 1 cardio. My assesment was good news mostly. My resting heart rate is down from 69bpm to 59bpm and my blood pressure down from 129/90 to 131/60 (the lower number being the important one apparently). My fat content is down a bit more but my weight back up another 1kg.

Muppet I'm not sure if my man boobs have quite gone yet but the new weights workout should make a bit more of a difference. I certainly am Looking forwards to baby coming in August. He / She is kicking quite a bit now in Mummys tummy.

Sunday was my day off. Too windy and cloudy for the beach so I did a spot of gardening in the morning and went for an hour walk in the evening. For those of you who may remember my starting off growing stuff I've so far managed to kill off my grape vine and coriander plants whilst my chilli and pumpkins have gone mad and I've got loads of them all over now.

Congrats on your fitness test results. It's good to see your blood pressure has gone down! Mine seems to fluctuate a lot..sometimes it's like 120/80 and other times it's like 159/90..I have no clue..

I wanted to go to the beach on Saturday, but the weather was too crappy so we didn't

Baby Jackson is camera shy

Hi All

I'll start off today by telling you about the 4d scan we had. As some of you may remember we had one last month but baby was being camera shy. Today was similar but we did get a good look at baby side on.

In this pic you can just about see the right hand side of babys face and one of his / her feet, as baby was bent over double today. We have booked again for 1 weeks time as baby is in breach position and my wife has been given some excercises to try to move baby into the correct position. Baby is currently 29 weeks and should have turned before 31 weeks, otherwise a cesarian is necessary and my wife wants to avoid that.

I was at the gym this monring before the hospital. I'm on day 2 of my new plan which is day one of cardio. I did 20 mins rowing machine, 25 mins treadmill and 3 sets of 25 stomach crunches. It must be working because there are muscles aching which wasn't happening any more on my old plan.

Cool picture Phil. I don't know if I'm looking at it right, but I think I can see what you're talking about. It sure looks like a baby's profie, anyway! Post more pics, when you get them. I hope he/she gets pointed in the right direction!
It's impressive to me, how you stil make your workout a priority, when you have so much else going on in your life. Well, this may get a little tougher, once the baby arrives, but you are really establishing good habits. You're wife must be very supportive of your efforts.
Congratulations to you both! I'm sure you're getting very excited!!!!!!

My Arms and legs are killing me. This morning my legs were still a bit sore from the treadmill yesterday but I still did my workout. Today was all weights, no cardio. The leg presses were agony. I've done a bunch of new weights excersizes on my arms too so they feel like two lead weights attched to my shoulders.

I get up an hour earlier than before I started the workouts (back in April) otherwise by the end of the day I'd have found an excuse not to go. I'm doing this so my baby has a fit and healthy dad and my wife gets her hunky hubby back.

BTW we are both very excited about seeing baby Jackson in August. I think he / she has mummys nose. I will certainly post the next 4d scan pic, assuming baby looses the camera shyness.

You are so right about getting your workout done in the morning. I have the best of intentions, when I put it off, but I always seem to have such a hard time working it in later in the day. Plus, when you do it in the morning, you feel a little better about yourself all day, and you don't have to think about it anymore. You can concentrate on the other things in your life, after you have taken care of business in the morning.
Looking forward to more pics! Are you having fun trying to think of a name? I know my husband and I were on two different planets when it came to that. I didn't think we would ever agree-- but we did eventually. We had never actually made a final decision, untill we actually met our babies face to face, so they were all little 'no names' for awhile.
Keep up the good work Phil.
Carol

I always do my workouts in the morning as well. I tend to get busy with other things during the day and end up putting it off as well..so now I book all my appointments with the trainer right in the morning so there's no excuse!

Today was my 2nd day of Cardio this week. 5 mins warm up, 20mins cross trainer, 20 mins rowing machine and 3 x 15 sets of stomach crunches, but today with my legs in the air which really hurt.

I annoyed myself last night by doing a side on photo comparison with a photo taken just before I started my workouts at the gym. The only difference I could see was I've got more of a tan than before. My tummy sticks out just as far and my man boobs look no smaller either . I know I'm getting fitter but I want to look better too.

We have some names ready for when baby arrives, It was quite easy for us to come to a decision but I will not reveal the name of baby until he / she arrives. We have another scan next week so if there's a good pic I'll post that one up.
