Patty's May Journal
May 2nd~ Today has been a rush day for me. I feel that I won't have enough time in the day to do what I need to do. It is already 11:20am and I have straightened up the house, organized my homework files, went to cl**** ate breakfast, took the kids to school, etc. I have to straighten house again b/c Ken has her stuff all over the living room and Grant's therapist will be here today @ 3:30pm. I started back to school today - I'm so excited. The class is a nutrition class...I'm anxious to learn more - this will help me through my weight loss journey. It was kinda strange reading everyone's bios b/c they don't seem to write very well...that bothers me. When I'm in a school atmosphere I expect all people to write well and use correct grammar...I know that all people aren't perfect and may have trouble with this but it is just bothersome to me. I hope to get over it soon - b/c I have the next 5 weeks with them. They are all very polite people - so far it isn't a big class...me and 5 other students. VERY small class - I hope that more people will be submitting their bios soon so that we know we are going to have a bigger class.
My husband and I are doing a little bit better - I just feel that is hiding something...isn't completely open. We'll have to see how this week goes - he is off tomorrow through Saturday. I hope he doesn't plan to be away everyday this week. Tomorrow he has doc appointments and physical therapy - then a personal meeting...it's okay b/c Ken has a dentist appointment tomorrow - I will be busy with her and the kids get out of school early tomorrow. I really wish they didn't get out early...urgh!
I am going to have to work on my time management again since starting class. I want to be sure that I have all my literature and homework complete before the kids get home - that way I can focus on them when they are home. It just bothers me b/c it takes a lot of time and I don't want Ken sitting in front of the TV all day...ya know.
Well, I'm outta here for now. Be back later.

Good luck with school Patty Ann!
I cant wait to go back after the weight comes off. That Nutrition class sounds like fun. You will have to share what you are learning with us. I know what you mean when you say that people cant write, or use correct grammar. As a former English major; it gives me the heeby jeebys when, "people dont speak good English." Maybe I am overly picky; but it bothers me like nails on a chalkboard. It really scares me what children arent learning in school these days. Then again; some people are better with public speaking vs writing. I am horrible when it comes to public speaking; writing is my forte. Dont even get me started on spelling...
I am glad that things seem to be cooling down. Just give your hubby a chance to come around before you go after him and he feels "cornered." I think this will eventually blow over before you know it. Get that jump rope and start that challenge you were/are so psyched about.

Oh I know exactly what you mean about people not being able to write very well. I have sent simple e-mails, and people have been impressed with how well-written then are. They weren't anything special at all. I was just passing along some information. But so many people do have such a hard time putting their thoughts down on paper, ( or on the screen, whatever the case may be). Personally, I don't think that I write especially well. I tend to ramble, and get off-subject. A lot of times, I really don't think I make much sense.
I know I'm not perfect. I try to use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation, but I don't stress out about it. I think because I have always tried to do it, it comes naturally.
I love email. But because most people think of it as very casual correspondence, they don't feel like they have to use proper grammar, spelling, etc.... Instant messaging is bad too. I don't know if any of our kids are going to be able to write well, without abbreviations, with proper puncuation, and with capital letters. I know they are taught it, but you do get into the habit of taking short cuts, and it's tough for them, when they have to write, and not use them.
Ok -- off my soapbox. I'm so glad things seem to be getting better for you. You're class sounds interesting. Good luck!

May 3rd
Today has been a good day. I had to take Ken to the dentist today to have 3 cavities taken care of...it was not fun for either of us. The dentist doesn't allow parents back b/c the children don't want to lay still for them when Mommy or Daddy is there. He said that she did fine and only fussed a little - held her hands over her tummy and didn't budge. The only problem is that I heard her crying the whole time...it was awful for me. As you can imagine not being able to do anything for your baby is the worse feeling in the world. When she came out her top lip just sagged - my poor baby, but she is all better now. She was so excited when the numbness went away...she said "Mommy...my teeth all gone." - which meant that it didn't hurt or feel funny anymore. Oh...and she is still doing an awesome job going potty in the big girl potty. I'm so excited...she is even pooping in the potty. She still has accidents but is doing really well. I think she'll be trained completely in a month...yeh! No more diapers!
Hubby and I are doing great! We are back to normal - he is calling me when he is away from home and talking as usual. Sam made a statement today..."It was weird yesterday...Daddy hasn't been talking to Mom for a couple of days and yesterday he talked up a storm." lol The kids were stressed out over the week, as well.
Dan is outside right now grilling up some turkey burgers and bbq beans for dinner tonight. Tomorrow is my weigh in and I'm excited to see what I have lost this week. I feel that I have lost weight - just not sure how much. I had stepped up my workouts - been doing double workouts. Today I haven't worked out and probably won't - besides my 21 day challenge, which is 4 minutes of crunches (variety), 2 minutes on each leg - side leg lifts. Last night when I did my crunches and leg lifts I could feel the burn - especially in my hips. Whew! I'm going to get these hips slim...lol.
I'm outta here for now. Hope you are all doing well and thank you for your kind words. Dinner will be ready soon.
LATE - KEEP ON KEEPING ON!

I think that's so awesome your little girl is almost potty trained as well, what a great experience to watch. I can't wait until I have children.
