Crikey. I'm really behind on british soaps. Mind you they aren't exactly my cup of tea. I get top gear over here which is great. I'm forced to watch holby and casualty, though I may have to ban my wife from seeing them as each week there is a dead baby storyline and its getting her worried. She's 6 months gone now. Other than that I tend not to watch too much tv, apart from the news.
Missy if you have a balcony you could put a few things into large garden pots. Otherwise things like chilli plants make great decorations for indoors and you could always grow herbs on your kitchen window ledge, if you have one.
I did my workout again this morning but it was really hard work. It was like I had no energy whatsoever. I did everything but it just seemed to take forever. Not a good one today. It still feel weak and tired now. My weigh in is tomorrow. I'm hoping it shows another good drop.

the scales have gone mad
My Home scales said I'd lost 1.2kgs this week but the ones at they gym say I've gained 1kg. Then again I didn't go to the gym until this afternoon so I'd eaten breakfast and lunch, had drinks etc etc so I'm not too upset about it. My trainer is happy with my progress. I'm lifting more weights, doing more reps and upping the resistance on the cardio machines much more than when i started two weeks ago. I'll try the gym scale on Monday morning when I've not eaten or drank much. I did my full work out today plus a few laps in the pool. I can swim a whole lap underwater now which is great.

Sounds like you are doing a great job with the cardio and resistance training. Is a trainer somebody you hired just for the contest or a part of the gym membership? I wouldnt mind having one instead of going it alone. Wow a whole lap underwater is cool. I just read an article about some guy who is going to try living underwater for a week. I couldnt imagine doing that. But I guess it will make for great tv.
Keep up the great work!

I'm going to start saying 'Crikey' now. Just cuz I like it!
Crikey! A whole lap underwater? Wow. I remember as a kid being so thrilled with myself for being able to swim across the pool underwater. A major accomplishment!!!
I love swimming. We do have an indoor pool here, but we don't have season passes. It's kind of expensive. But if I used it regularly it would be worth it. I just don't know if I would. I hate to pay for the priviledge of exercise, when I have so many beautiful hiking and biking trails at my disposal.
I would never EVER watch anything about children dying, and miscarraiges, or anything like that, when I was pregnant, and while my kids were babies. Come to think of it, I still avoid things like that. I can't stand to even think that something like that could happen to me. It's like my brain rejects it. It's just too sad. I think it's just fine to focus on the positive. It's a happy time for you!

Gym scales today say I've maintained my wieght from last week, no gain or loss. That's probably due to be having a bit of a blow out this weekend. Beers, ice cream and bad choices foodwise. Oh well at least I didn't gain. I'll try harder this week to be good with my food. Not going to be that easy though as we have visitors. I know a few great places to eat out healthy so I'll suggest those.
Didn't do much yesterday. I went to the beach but as I was swimming around I was surrounded by a swarm of jellyfish. I didn't get stung so maybe they weren't the stinging type but it put me off so i swam all of 2 minutes if that. I did watch the European F1 GP and I was pleased to see another Ferrari win (being a lifelong fan of the team) but what a boring race. The whole thing was won on pit stops, not once did you see them fighting for position on track.
I've done a full work out today. Nothing much to report there, it went ok. Carrie in answer to your question my trainer comes with the gym membership. He checks my progress once a week to see that I'm doing well. On saturday he showed me how to do stomach crunches properly as they way I was doing them could cause back strain.
Thanks again to everyone for your encouraging words.

Quick update. My mother in law arrived at 1am this morning so I didn't hit the sheets until 2am. I didn't get up for my workout but I did manage 40 laps of the pool before heading off to work.
Helena you must try the ice cream here in Malta, its as good as any I've had in Italy.

40 laps takes me 25 minutes. I do a combination of front crawl and back stroke to give me a bit of an overall workout.
