What did I do today to make myself feel proud?
Hi everyone. Its great to find a site like this. I'm a big fan of BL and can't wait to see so more series over here. We could do with our own version as Malta has one of the highest rates of child obeisity on Europe.
Anyhow following on from my post in "introductions" I'll keep a journal here and try to answer my own question each day.

Hi and welcome to journaling! I hope you find it as useful as many of us have. Swimming is great -I'm jealous you have access to a pool and know how to swim. Such a beneficial exercise.
I appreicate that you realized you wanted to lose some weight before it got really out of hand. I think that's something a lot of people miss, even with the BL show airing. People think to themselves "I'm not as big as that guy so I'm okay", but really it's not okay if you are overweight for your body size. There are people of all sizes on this forum, but we all share the same issues despite our current weight.
Once again welcome, and I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts. PS. Where is your avatar from? It looks similar to the anime Neon Evangelion, am I off on this?

Hi all
50 lengths in the pool today. I got up a little earlier to get there. My daily target is 40 but when i hit that today i had time and kep going.

I'm going to have to rethink my diet a little. Lunch yesterday was two slices of wholemeal toast and a 400g can of reduced sugar / salt heinz beans, healthy but antisocial, if you get what i mean.
Sugar free Museli for breakfast today, unfortunatly there's no such thing as low fat milk here so it was 250ml of the full fat version. I don't have it in coffee anymore though.
Remains of last nights tukey chilli (a bit like Dr Jeff's) for lunch today.
Thank you to everyone for your messages. I enjoy reading your own journals and getting recipe tips. I'll try to post some of my own eventually.

Good for you with the extra laps!! I need to be putting in extra effort with my exercising as well, I have a tendancy to stop at whatever my goal is even when I have the extra time and ability.

Ah, well Storm trooper honestly was my second guess.
There's no such thing as low fat milk there? Wow, so different. Musli is fantastic, but most people in the states don't eat it. Nor do we have kebab places, though they sound like a great alternative. PIta bread isn't so bad for you as most breads.
Congrats on the lap swimming and glad you're finding diet that works for you (and those around you, lol) . Cheers!

not exactly proud right now, today i weighed myself and i'd put back on almost all the weight i'd lost in the 1st week. 0.6kgs on. I will have to rethink my strategy i suppose. No saturday night out for me then. :-(
still been to the gym though and put in 40 lengths of the pool. I may enquire about a personal trainer 2-3 hours a week but to be honest I've always found working out a total bore.
Done my weeks shopping and been really careful about my choices, more veg and less red meat this week. Looking at the fat / calorie content on labels.
looking forward to a better week next week.

what kind of meats do you buy?
turkey breast is amazingly healthy
or chicken breast
extra lean ground beef isn't too bad

Hi, and welcome! You know, it could be that you're gaining MUSCLE and you are indeed losing fat. Of course, muscle weighs more than fat, so it's possible that the scale wouldn't show a loss of "weight" even if you are losing some fat. Do you think that could be the case? Keep on going....you're heading in the righ direction!
