That's the exact reason I am on here most times. I am a night owl and I want to eat when I am up really late so I get on the forum to help remind me of my goals. My boyfriend, mom, and friends are a great support but sometimes you need a bit more than that to get you through.

I am struggling a bit but I know I will be okay. I am having such a hard time with drinking water. I have cut back to 0-1 diet sodas a day. I am happy about that. Food..I have been going back and forth with that over the past two weeks. I did better today and hope to continue to do better. It is always worse when TOM is here. My water kickboxing class was supposed to start last week but the class was cancelled. It will start this Sunday so I am excited about that. I am also starting a Yoga class with a friend on April 18th so I have a lot to look forward to and as long as I am doing my best that is all that I can ask for. I shouldn't be in such a rush. It didn't take me a day to get this weight on me. Slow and steady wins the race.

Still struggling with the food piece. I am starting to do better with my water. I actually drank 2 16 oz bottles yesterday after weeks of not finishing one bottle or barely drinking 1/2 bottle on a daily basis. Its hard but I will continue to strive. What is always constant...exercise. I actually enjoy it but food...I like it too much. Here's hoping I maintain. I am thinking of weighing monthly rather than weekly. I am just so tied into the scale and it is so much pressure. Rather than think about it I will do that. I did so much better when I didn't have a scale for 6 weeks. Okay...I think I weighed in on April 3. I will again weigh in on May 3rd.

The food piece is the hardest for me too, 72butterfly. I absolutely resist counting calories or planning ahead what I will have to eat. I don't have a problem with drinking water though. I've been drinking lots of water now for a couple of years. I hate planning ahead of time what I will eat though......

72butterfly,

Another thing I wanted to say in my post above (regarding your post) is about the scale.....Many here may not agree with me, but in my opinion, if going by the scale to measure your progress is discouraging for you (as it is for me), I say don't use it! You can tell if you're making the progress you want to and if you're moving in the right direction by the way you feel, the way your clothes fit, your energy level. I, too, have found in the past that I'm doing wonderful until I start getting on the scale to measure my progress, and then I get discouraged very easily. I say, keep on going, and wait awhile before you get back on (if you choose to at all!). It sounds like you're doing great....keep going!

(by the way, I'm weighing myself weekly right now only because of a fun little thing we have going at work for 3 more weeks....we all weigh in on the same day....but after that's over, I KNOW I don't want to be weighing myself that often. Maybe once a month or so.)

Laurie

Thanks Laurie. I truly appreciate the support and the kind words. I tell my friends, family, boyfriend, and I have even said it on these forums that the support I receive here has helped me so much on this journey. Thanks again.

I would watch yourself if you are drinking anything that says "diet" on it...it contains aspartame which is seriously bad for you. My anxiety group leader has had 60 mini-strokes in her life due to previously drinking things with aspartame in it. She had to walk with a cane for a year because of how damaging it was on her body. There are serious side effects that come with aspartame....

I got on the scale today as a reality check. Usually it would send me in a downward spiral to see that I have gained some weight back but I have been through a lot in the past month or so and feel I have been doing pretty well. The past 2 days I have been doing okay with my food. My saving grace is that I exercise in some shape or form everyday (at least during the 21 day challenges) and that has kept it from truly getting out of hand. I am refocused now and I believe when I do my official weigh in on May 3rd I will be back to 219 or maybe even lost a pound or two. I have faith in myself. I believe in me.

i too would avoid "diet" drinks in favour of sparkling mineral water.
