Breakfast for dinner - OH MY! I know what that is like - there used to be so many nights when we would have biscuits & gravy for dinner or a full course breakfast. I don't get to enjoy many of those breakfasts anymore - but hubby makes exceptions...he will scramble egg whites for me and make me toast. We just talked about Turkey Bacon - I didn't know they had it so I am going to go get some. (he informed me that it's there...lol) He can make an AWESOME BLT sandwich, too....OH MY GOD! Yummy!

I couldn't imagine talking to a child that young that has seen videos such as these. These are scarey movies - I have trouble watching them. I can remember when my children came home from staying @ my husband's mother's house (she is a sore subject) and they were talking about Chucky - OH NO! NOT MY CHILDREN...I was so angry! My family knows that they are not allowed to watch such videos...I am very particular on what my children watch...if we aren't sure about the sexual content then we won't watch a movie with the children - we watch it first. They seem to sneak in sexual content in movies...we become surprised a lot.

Hi Patty Ann,

Wow you got the cardio in today!! I am glad to hear that your bottom isnt sore. If you bike for long periods of time over a few days in a row, you will feel it. (And wish you had more padding!) I wish I could put my tummy bulge in my booty, and then I wouldnt feel a thing!!

Sounds like you had a very enjoyable breakfast/brunch with your family. I have to admit that I miss doing that stuff with my parents. So how are your kids taking to your challenge and using it to spend more time with them? I bet they are psyched to be included. I am with you on the video games. I used to like Tetris and Duck Hunt. The games that they have today are too graphic and too violent for children. TV is bad enough these days, they dont need war video games with people shooting at each other. Talk about teaching the wrong message.

Keep up the great work! I cant wait to hear about your next weigh in!

~Carrie

I love breakfast for dinner too -and biscuits and gravy have a special plate in my heart -my grandma always makes them when I come visit. I could eat a whole plateful... Also, turkey bacon is quite good actually. Lots of flavor, less fat. Also great to use if you are making something for work and one collegue happens to be Muslim (can't eat pork).

I'm amazed at those movies. All parents should screen movies -and Kudos to y'all for doing that! I hate when they toss sexual content in things and I'm an adult. It's usually unecessary to the plot and degrading to women. We always look up the reasons movies are rated, but sometimes that isn't even good enough. My fiance loves horror movies so I accompanied him to Slither on Sunday -don't waste your time or money. And it does show way more skin than the ratings forecasted -made me so mad. *Jumps off my soap box*

Congrats on getting so much playtime in with the kids -I'm sure they'll remember it always. Sounds like a fun twist on normal tetherball too.
Cheers!

Carrie...to answer your question about how the kids are taking to my 21 day challenge. They are more than excited about it - I tell them each morning - when we have a chance we'll do our activity. They are always asking what we are going to do that particular day...lol. I know they are loving it but to be honest - I think I love it more! You also asked how many miles I did on the bike - my mom's bike is an older one and it doesn't have the "specials" on it. I just know that I rode for 70 minutes b/c I kept track of the time.

Smile Monday; April 3rd

Today was just a blah day for me - I can't remember everything about it but do know that my morning was stressful.

*Woke up @ 6:45am (slept in - hit the snooze button)
*Ate breakfast @ 7:15am (Special K cereal w/skim milk)
*Went to the bank @ 8:15am
*Took McKenna and Grant to the dentist (appointment was @ 10am - left the house @ 8:45am)...takes an hour to get there. When we arrived and I took Ken out of her carseat I was upset b/c her diaper leaked through. I can't believe that her clothes were so wet - I had to take both her top and pants off ... she had to sit in the chair with just her jacket and diaper on. I felt awful - I had forgotten her spare clothes on my kitchen counter. Results of the appointment - Grant had his tooth pulled ... he had an abcess under his capped tooth. Ken has 3 cavities...I was shocked. She brushes her teeth 3-4 times a day...I just recently started assisting her in brushing b/c I noticed she wasn't getting all her teeth clean. She has a really bad gag reflex so I don't like to brush the back teeth for too long - BIG MISTAKE! That is where the cavities are.
*Went to Wal-Mart (I had to get Ken some clothes - thankfully I had gone to the bank in the morning)...now she has an adorable new outfit. She was happy with it - she picked it out.
*Went to my mom's house b/c Grant started feeling sick and was afraid to go to school - he missed today. Ate lunch @ 12pm (peanut butter sandwich)Visited with my mom until 1:30pm.
*When I walked in the door of our home I was surprised by our dog - she wasn't in her little carrier while we were away...I was dreading the messes BUT she didn't leave a single mess. I was so proud of her!
*Worked out @ 2:20pm (3 miles w/Leslie)...oh, I got me some weights finally - 1.5 pounds each. They are soft weights with straps to fasten around my hand. I got them for a REWARD - I'm proud of myself and thought that I deserved it.
*I can't really remember what I did after working out - Sam got home from school immediately after I finished - we visited for awhile.
*Went and played with the girls at the park for an hour...swinging with Kenna, hitting balls to Sam and pitching to her.
*Took Sam to softball practice @ 5:30pm - we were there until 7pm...I had to pull her out of practice b/c it was too late. I didn't expect practice to be longer than an hour...hubby had dinner ready for us @ 7pm.
*Ate dinner @ 7:15pm (pork steak, steamed potatoes, and bbq beans)
*Watched TV - played with the kids - gave Ken her bath...the usual Mama stuff.
*Snacked on frozen yogurt @ 8:45pm (BAD Patty...I don't like to eat late.)
*10:30pm - heading to bed now. It is so late. I'm tired and still need to take my shower. I might just take it in the morning...urgh!

I'll be back in her tomorrow. I had made a new chart for myself...it has all my workout videos on it, calorie intake, water intake, 21 day challenge, fit day, and journal. I must mark it with an X if I had completed it...I have been doing very well.

KEEP ON KEEPING ON! Late!

Wow, you do much! I'd be exhausted if I had to keep up a schedule like that. Congrats on earning a reward, and such a smart idea for one too!

Talking Tuesday; April 4th

Today has been a very busy day - running here and there all day. I have driven all day long...urgh. I'm wore out and ready for bed.

*Woke up @ 6:40am
*Got the kids off to school
*Climbed back in bed w/hubby @ 7am - 8:30am...we don't get much of a chance to sleep in. Kenna slept in this morning so I took advantage of it.
*Climbed out of bed @ 8:45am and started getting ready.
*Went to Sam's school to drop off her picture order form and went to Wal-Mart.
*Got home - walked the dog and headed out again.
*Picked my sister up from the hospital - took her to see my mom @ work - took her to my mom's house to pick up her check - took her home to change her clothes - took her to Wal-Mart to cash her check - took her to McD's - went to Sonic - took her home - took her to my house to pick up my kids - took her back home - stopped @ doc's office to drop of paperwork - went to my mom's house.
*Visited with my mom - played tetherball with Sam and with my husband. He cheats! Urgh!
*Got home @ 6:30pm - ate dinner (I ate a healthy choice dinner - roasted turkey and mashed potatoes...yummy).
*Ate snack - after dinner (chips & salsa)
*Watched American Idol
*Showered @ 8:15pm
*Ready for bed - 9:15pm

I completed my 21 day challenge again today by playing tetherball with Sam while we were at my mom's house. I didn't workout today but will be tomorrow. I weigh in in two days. I'm hoping for some weight loss this week. I hope you all are doing well.

KEEP ON KEEPING ON! LATE!
