June-wintolose
I need to clear my head. Its been a while since I have been on the site. My weight loss has been at a stand still for most of the time. I have not been going to the gym, thinking I am too busy. I am frustrated. We were in the process of selling our house on our own, we had a offer with all the contingencies met and the buyer backed out 2 days before closing. We missed out on the best month for selling a house and he wants his earnest money back to top it off. We had moved out of the house and into an apartment. Its just been a very long 4 months prepping and selling the house. Now, we put it in the hands of a realtor.
My husband is diabetic and we are struggling to find middle ground our eating habits. He has lost a 100 pounds since being diagnosed. a great accomplishment. I still have to lose 100 pounds. However, we differ on the on frequency of the meals. He eats all the right things, most of the time, but he only wants to eat one meal a day, for fear he is going to gain the weight back. I disagree with him. I am worried about him because I feel he needs to control his blood sugar levels, and after discussing it with his doctor, dietician and nurse, eating every 4-5 hours is the best way is to keep the blood sugar level even thoughout the day. I feel we need to eat frequently throughout the day, only with much smaller portion sizes. It is very difficult, but we are doing this together and hopefully over time we will both be successful. Thanks for listening so to speak. I will keep in touch

Wow, sorry you're going through so much. It's even more difficult to be healthy when your routine is interrupted. I'll be thinking of you and hoping the best for you and your hubby. Keep exercising whatever you do, then food choices will matter less and less. Good luck with the house.

I'm glad to hear your doing better. But however you're feeling, or whatever your frustrations are, this is a great place to let it all out. I really do think everyone reads everyone else's posts. So we are a great bunch of 'listeners'.
I hope everything settles down for you. Moving, and trying to sell a home are both so stressful.
I hope your husband realizes that it is best to eat through out the day. My husband can also do that though. Sometimes, we don't want to do 'all day' things with him, because he never wants to stop to eat. But now he realizes that just because he can go all day, only eating once, doesn't mean the rest of us can.
It's just healthier for everyone to keep some fuel in the body.
Keep us posted.
Carol

I have had similar thoughts of starvation and skimping on calories...Dont. It will slow the metabolism and his body will go into starvation mode and hoard calories. Eventually he will get hungry (trust me), and the flood gates will be stuck open. Try eating small meals throughout the day. That will keep the metabolic rate going, and the blood sugar levels from spiking. Small meals wont leave him stuffed to the gills either. I just saw that he is diabetic. He has to keep those levels in check; you dont want him going into shock. If he is eating healthfully, he wont gain the weight back. So he can breathe easy.
I dont get it either, but you gotta eat to lose....
Way to go on the 100 pounds your hubby lost.
Dont give up just because the scale is being mean. You may be losing inches instead.
Sorry about the house deal falling through. Isnt that illegal what the buyer did? That is really skanky of him trying to get his money back after he moved you out and then he changed his mind.

So is the house officially off the market yet? Or is the sale still pending? I wish you the best!
